The retrospective is quite good for those that don't know his career. I was pleased that RS emphasized his virtuosity on guitar and even features a small photo of him holding an Ovation. |

With all the cell phone video cameras out there it's way more than likely that an embarassing moment will get posted and go viral on YouTube.
And with all the news, people will be looking for any moment of confusion. |

This is life. Glen's has been pretty good all in all, troubles and missteps included.
What he's doing is a great community service, as well as a personal celebration.
The fatal consequence of embarrassment is highly over-rated. |

While perusing through the videos to the right, I came across this ONE . I always thought it was a 1624, until I paid attention at the intro...not the same neck. Looks like a custom legend neck until you get to the classical head. |

Glen is playing one of his 1624 Custom guitars which has a Baldwin Prismatone pickup and initals at the 12-fret.
However, the intro is being played by bandmember Carl Jackson on a Custom Legend. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Don't feel badly. I've had more trouble getting back from Canada than I've had leaving. Especially once when I told the US customs agent what I did for a living.
Last time we drove and opened both trunks for them to search on the way back. After she searched the back one I asked her if she wanted to search the front one, too. She gave me a goofy look and declined. If I ever smuggle something back, I'll put it in the front trunk and see if I can sneak through. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | True story. On the subject of smuggling, it was March, 1968. I had spent the week deep in the interior of Baja California with two friends and a father of one of them. I had a guitar along. In San Felipe, we bought a bunch of M-80s, cherry bombs, mini RPBs, and lots of other things that would explode after being lit, all of it very illegal in California, of course. I removed the guitar and used the case to hide the contraband. At the border, an inspection agent jumps into the back of the camper and starts going through stuff while a second agent stands outside. The agent inside starts passing stuff like boxes and duffle bags to the outside agent for inspection outside the camper. Out came the guitar by itself and the agent carefully inspects the inside through the sound hole, then sets it aside. Next comes the guitar case. As the inside agent hands the case down to the outside agent, he turns it upright and we could hear all the stuff inside sliding and crashing around inside. Obviously, it was not the guitar which was now leaning against the bumper. I looked at my friends and we all gulped. The agent gently set the case down but never bothered to open it. I guess it never occured to him that the guitar case so obviously filled with something was not being used to store the guitar. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Glen is scheduled to appear on the Tonight Show on Monday, 9/12/11. I watched and taped the show...Glen only sang (no guitar playing) two song. He did fine but clearly displays signs of the disease.
His guitarist in the band played an -8 Adamas cutaway on one song. Good to see him but kinda sad as well. |

Location: SoCal | I saw him at Lake Mission Viejo about 6 weeks ago. Real bittersweet. He dropped lyrics in every tune and his guitar playing sounded frantic at times. Not the confidence that was there 10 years ago.
But on the upside,he looked happy, had his family around him (most of the band) and the audience loved him.

Location: Veedersburg, Indiana | I watched his performance and thought he did well. Also got the new album - very good. I would recommend it to anyone. Have tickets to see him in southern Indiana in December. He's been one of the best since the 60's and I want to be able to say I say him live. |
