Location: Florence,SC | There's a Preacher Deluxe on ebay right now that "sounds" interesting. I say "sounds" because there's no pictures for a guitar with a starting price of $700.
I asked the seller to post some pictures because I was interested in the guitar. His response? I quote: "Hi, you can go to Google Search engine and type in Ovation Electric Guitar Preacher Deluxe and see many pictures of this guitar and they will all be the same except maybe the color which mine is a sunburst."
Like I said, I "was" interested. |

A response like that would definitely kill any interest I might have had. |

I had one of the prototype DA guitars that I sold about 3-4 years ago cause some collector waved an obscene amount of money in my face.
Now I just have a couple of the reissues. |

Location: Florence,SC | Money does talk ...sometimes very loud! The bass I have is one of the early ones (without the switch) and I've been looking for a pickguard for it. It has a non-original one on it now. Good basses. |

I still have an ongoing search on ebay just to keep tabs with the current worth...lol!
Yeah, I think back then a lot of us guitarist switched to bass cause there were so few bass players around. Having the short scale really made for a comfortable switch. |

| It's this one isn't it?
Shady Preacher
The seller added a couple of photos. From this picture I can only surmise that this guitar certainly has Viper pickups as well as body shape. The pickguard is not stock.
Looks like a refinished Viper with a mysterious 3 knob but I may be wrong. |

It might be this one (from Woody's ning photos)... same knot-hole.
With different lighting and maybe some added oil to the wood-grain.
But it ain't a Preacher... Deluxe or Otherwise. :p |

The wood seems to have darkened but there's no mistaking that pickguard grain pattern. It's like a fingerprint. |

That is a One Piece Mahogany Body finished in Tung Oil with a Koa veneer PG and TRC.
Viper pups and a Blend Switch in place of the Three way Switch.
The tuners and Bridge are Chrome and I did not have a coil tap switch in there.
Very odd... |

Not sure why he didn't pull the listing.
Still fishy. |

He didn't specify this in his ad so I'm wondering what is so custom about his Viper III? |
