Thanks to Mitzdawg up in NH for setting me up with my first Adamas, a 2000 Mill-CB. Was actually looking around for a new guitar for a buddy of mine when I came across it, offered him first dibs, but he's more of a wood box type of guy and wasn't interested...

Four days and much negotiation later w/ SWMBO about foregoing future Bday and Xmas gifts for the foreseeable future, it was mine.

Also, same friend who 'Doesn't really like Ovations' strummed it for the first time and said "How is it that this thing sounds like its coming through in stereo when it's unplugged?" :)

Just wait until he hears one of the stereo FET models amplified through a true stereo set-up.

I think an investment in something involving diamonds for her may help me renegotiate the matter in a year or so!

I think they made 75 of them. I'll double check on the number tonight and report back. I'll also try to take some better pics of the inlays and everything...

It does have some excess glue around one of the epaulets -- looks like an attempted home repair. Can anybody give me a rough estimate on costs for the factory to clean it up or other advice on removing? Thanks!

I don;t think it was factory reconditioned, due to the excess glue, just really well cared for by Mitzdawg, who said it barely came out of the case while he owned it (due to having other ridiculously nice Os and As).

It would have a 'Factory reconditioned guitar' sticker in the bowl which can be seen through the epaulet holes - it's a beaut either way enjoy!

One of my favorites--congrats on your acquisition!! I think I saw two of these on Ebay back in 2003 or so. One was white and one was purple.

Also, glad to hear your wood-box friend was at least intrigued by the guitar.

Enjoy the next ten years worth of Christmas/birthday/Father's Day presents!!

I almost bought that one, but then found my 1881 and had my CL redone by mother. It is indeed a beautiful instrument and plays like a dream. Glad it found a good home!

Thanks All!

Hey Big Harp Jones, how is Fort Collins these days? Went to school out there in the mid 90s, great area!

I have one, and I love, love, LOVE it. Rare indeed (75 made for the U.S. Market, I think, maybe a few more for the Japanese ... check Jerome site at http//www.OvationTribute.com and you can see which ones were which. The guitar sounds beautiful has a WONDERFUL neck (a bit large nut width too) ... just delightful, and Mitzdawg is a good guy. Congrats on your fabulous new Adamas ... like someone else wrote ... now you're in trouble, because you'll want more ...

;)

Managed to sneak in a trade last week for a Godin Solidac electric. :D

Wife has been very understanding with my GAS lately! Now I just need to buy a bigger house so I'm not tripping over guitar cases every two secinds...

Good for you. It's a great looking guitar. I'll buy another one once I get more cash.
