| Sorry I said that.
I need to know,right now,excatly which Ovation guitars are made in the US,by guitar builders here in the US.
I research the company and all I find is glossy promo's with no info about the people who build them.
I gotta feeling the real story is the guitar is being slapped together somewhere 3 thousand miles away.
I'm not gonna take it any more.
Ovation,please,show me the passion you had in the 60's,70's, and a little of the 80's with your advertising.
Break away from Fender,or Hamer,or whoever owns you now.
Have some class and an attitude.
Worked before.
I hate to get mad at the "O",I have owned 7,but now I am being forced to check for a hidden "Made in Wherever" lable.
Drop the Celb,gather about 20 of the most loyal Ovation people the build them here in the US,and start over.
I would buy stock,an I'll bet alot of other folks would too.

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I'm pretty sure you can order just about any model and it will be made in Hartford.
If you are buying used, you might as well get an older one anyway as it will already be opened up and sound fantastic.
This does bring up another question... For many years, the Bodies were all Made in USA. That actually causes some confusion with people selling imports on ebay claiming they were made in the use because Made in USA was stamped on the bowl.
1. So are all the bowls still made in Ohio?
2. Are the electronics Korea, Japan, Taiwan.. elsewhere??

But as soon as the financial genius who decided to move manufacture of all Elites and Balladeers (and later, Legends) to the Ultra factory in Korea reads this... Well :eek: |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I cannot afford to commission a custom build guitar from Ovation, otherwise Al's number would be on my speed dial. That being said, and despite some unexplained digs from some OFC'ers, I do funnel regular cash into the Ovation corner of the factory. John and Kim have never failed to treat me right, so I bother them whenever I can. And I intend to continue doing so for a bit longer.
In fact, John says I should be hearing from him this week. So I sit here impatiently waiting in a totally unreasonable fashion for a quality built American guitar.
John says it looks "killer", which does little to quell my juvenile anticipation. Regardless, the wait commences! :cool: |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | There are PLENTY of good quality, used USA-made Ovations still to be had on the used market at rock-bottom prices. If you by one that needs work, you can have a lot of "custom" work done by sending it in to the mothership for a makeover. THAT is THE best deal to be have these days. |
