First I trade for a great Glen Campbell Artist and last night another O falls in my lap.

Last week in the local CL there was an Ovation with no price. The seller said he was selling an 1861 that plays and sounds great, electronics work, yada yada yada, no case. But has 2 dings on the top... Make an offer. So I did... really low. After a few days with no reply I figured he didn't like the offer. WRONG, he called me yesterday, I went there, checked her out and brought her home.

A 1995 Standard Balladeer 1861 (pics to come... still cleaning her up).

The dings are not too bad, just noticeable. Any suggestions on making them less visible? Can I use acetone to remelt the lacquer and blend the ding back in?

Scratch the acetone and lacquer. Its a ployester finish, so its a CA fix.

Shoot, that's hardly worth worrying about (but I understand your perfectionism with such a beauty).

Custom black laminate pickguard should hide it.

The stuff they make countertops from would be an easy fix.

(snort!) :-)
