Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | Thanks, Brad! The question is, how in the world am I going to sleep until it gets here on Monday? I dreamed about this guitar in the beginning. It was a dream that gave me the idea to have it made. Now that it's done, I keep waking up from dreams about it and can't get back to sleep. (But I'm playing some great guitar in the middle of the night!) |

Beautiful custom, Alison!

I think I looked away from the computer the first time in order to rest my eyes after I saw the NAMM picture. |

Great guitar Alison, who thought up the inlays?
Thank God two schmucks walking in the rain in Frankfort hit on the idea to put a 14 fret neck on a 12 fret body bridge placement and tune it to D. |

But it got me thinking. With my last name being what it is, I couldn't resist. And when the factory wanted a picture to go by, I couldn't find one I liked so I just drew that and sent it to them. I guess that makes it a custom custom.
And yeah, tell those two schmucks I said thanks! |

If possible, you'll have to post some clips so we can hear it, if not, send it to me and I'll record it and return it... eventually... ;)
It looks like there's a swan on the trc also? Nice!
Congratulations, great concept, and perfect execution by the wizards at the Mothership.... |

Choosing the epi's was the most vivid part of the dream that inspired me to have this made. I wanted a grey pearlized material. When they asked for a picture, all I could find was that stuff they used to make dinette set out of in the 50's. It's called "grey cracked ice". They tried to match it as closely as they could, and it looks like they nailed it.
My friends Brad and Bonnie are building a recording studio even as I type. I will definitely do some recording with this bad boy.
I am a lousy singer, but I'm even worse when I'm not in a comfortable key. A lot of the songs I have written are in A, and I don't want to change the key because then I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the open A and E basses. And of course to me, the guitar part is way more important than the vocals. So the upshot is, you will all get to hear a lot of the songs I've written that NOBODY has ever heard before. (Sure hope I can remember them all. :D ) |

Why did you choose not to have an ebony board? I really like the way the maple inlays on the walnut fretboards look on my other four Adamas'. Kind of a "peanut butter cup" effect. |

It is indeed a beaut. A close up of the epis is a must when you get your hands on it. That puppy is going to rumble - it's going to be like a long neck 1680 with the deep bowl and unfinished carbon fibre top. |

I think it looks a bit more symetrical with the brown going from the headstock down, and repeated at the bridge. Is there a story behind the swans, or do you just like swans? |

And yeah, we will do another Black Hills jam. I was going to do one this past summer, but I wanted to wait until this came in. I had hoped I would get it by the END of summer at least, but it took just shy of a year. I think they had a hard time with the skinny little necks on those swans. And I know toward the end, the supplier was late getting the epi material to them.
Anyway, my UPS guy told me yesterday that it might come early because they have so many extra trucks running at this time of year and it hasn't gotten that busy for them yet. According to the tracking number, it left Minneapolis at quarter to five this morning. It's about eight and a half hours from Minneapolis to Rapid City, and another hour between Rapid and here. That means it MIGHT, just MIGHT come this afternoon.
Probably not though. I'm TRYING not to get my hopes up. |

Now I live in a place where people never lock their doors, everyone waves and says "hi", the air is the cleanest in the country, and although it does snow some in winter, those snowy days alternate with bright sunshine and 60 degrees, all through the winter.
Besides, as all who attended the Black Hill jam last year will tell you, we have BEAUTIFUL scenery. And it's about to become even prettier here - I think the greys and browns of that guitar will fit in nicely! :) |

Mark, we were almost headed in your direction the week after Christmas, but looks like we're adjusting our plans some. Victoria Island is looking like the destination. |
