Location: eastern united states | i'm looking at an orange gcxt on ebay. i have the 1778t-rft(red) and bft's(blue). i need an orange to have all 3. the 1778t and gcxt look identical to me other than the ovation medallion on back. i know the gcxt is sold thru guitar center only. is there really any difference in the 2 models? i'd love to finish out the trio. |

And I think that the GCXT and the Flame T's are the same.
I am not positive, but I think that at the time that Guitar Center ordered the GCXT the 1778T's (including the Flamers) had an OP-30 preamp. So the GCXT might have been the first T's to have the OP-Pro.
Later, all of the USA Elites, and just about everything else, got the Pro.
(I could be mistaken  ) |

Location: eastern united states | the quality inspection certificate medallion on the back under the neck. yeah, my blue flamer has the op-30, and the red one has the op-pro. little squeamish about getting the orange one that doesn't say 1778t-oft. i'll probably wait til i get a better opportunity. its already at 330 with damage on it. ill go to 450 and give up and wait. watched a pearl white w597 go for 1000.beatin' myself up for not getting that one. i blame the Blonde's relationship requirements. |

It has an OP-Pro and a 599xxx number (2005) about the same time as the one on d'Bay.
That one has been shot with a BB gun... But I don't know how cheap it will stay.
USA Elite T... Flamer... Christmas-time. |

The coolest one I ever saw was on a factory tour ... it was blue with small water droplets. Stunning. |

As for the flames, I think all the gcxts I've had have a op30. The only one I've had with a oppro was a t. I think there's been 2 orange and 3 different red ones that have spent time on my wall. |

Location: Utah | My daughter has the GCXT. It is OP30 and RED flame. Guitar Center offered an orange flame with OpPro later on under the same GCXT moniker iirc.
Other than that I think it is the same T guitar as the 1778T-RF. |

You can just bid what you think it is worth and go about your business.
Wow! And I have paid that much for uglier guitars. :p
(I paid over $500 for both of my Flamers) |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I Have Had two Flamers in my life.
I only have One at the moment.
(sorry for any confusion)
I got my first one way-back-when in early 2008, but I sold it in 2009 to grunt in Afghanistan.
I sent it to NJ so it would be waiting for him when he got home.
(He later sold it on eBay cuz he didn't play it cuz he feared he would scratch it)
But soon after Christmas in '09 Trader Jim offered one for Sale.
He offered it at 1:50 PM... a Half-Hour later I had PM-ed him and bought it.
That was very nice of him cuz I was definitely having Sellers' Remorse and OFT Withdrawal. :p |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Naw, the guy won it and I shipped it to his family.
A year-and-a-half later I saw my same listing with my photos and description on d'Bay and I was gonna report whomever had copied my listing... But I contacted them first.
It turned-out to be the dude I sold it to (so he made it home in one piece).
And like I said, he said that he Loved the guitar but was selling it cuz he was afraid to play it.
Sad thing is... I knocked-off $111 to him cuz he was "in-country" but he still couldn't get his money back. Current economy and all...
Just seeing that $600 Flamer going to Bobbo (but I am glad he got it) is a sign of the times.
It was really NICE of them to offer that guitar at that price...
But that is a $2,000 guitar! (at least)
BTW-- This one is waiting for you...
