I might even bend my preconceived prejudices over that one. |

I might even bend my preconceived prejudices over that one. Comes with that cool Korean "peel & stick" logo. |

The new one would appear to have been designed by a 5-year old with crayons, letraset and special needs. It would be a perfect way to identify the imports from the good stuff, but to put that poor excuse for graphic design on the stuff coming out of New Hartford is an insult. It's like replacing the original fender logo with the word "fender" in Helvetica. |

Huh?? The only thing thing like an 07BCS is the contour bowl. Everything else is different. |

I plan on contacting John about some projects right after NAMM, and I'll be sure to ask specifically for the OLD logo! |

That has a mid-depth bowl anyway. |

I'd like to check one out, but it really is a specialized extra that only appeals to a small group.
Kind of like the Nikki Sixx bass.
Or to summarize, I agree with Temp. |

Not quite the overwhelming praise they're used to getting around here. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Are any of these models coming from New Hartford? I'll reserve judgment on the new F-hole Viper until I have an opportunity to play one. From the front, the sunburst Balladeer looks very similar to my '84 Legend SSB. I could see the logo change coming. |

I might even bend my preconceived prejudices over that one. It looks pretty much identical to my 6778LX Vintage Natural. The VN was a limited production run in 2005ish. The single side epaulet may change the tone some, idk, but I like the look and I love the soft V neck profile. The '07C was a better looking guitar due to the higher quality woods. I still miss the '07C but it was redundant with the Adamas 2080.

http://www.ovationguitars.com/guitars/product/1627ltd_4
and
http://www.thomann.de/de/ovation_1627ltd_4.htm
the others, God knows where they where made, have the new (urgly) logo.

My jacket will often brush up against the volume knob on an OP-Pro...
I am sure the knob up on the bout under my arm would have similar problems. |

Location: Northwest Arkansas | Fender has no business making acoustics of any kind. They proved that over the last 50 plus years. Their acoustics suck. Let's hope they don't mess up the American made Ovations. I truly believe the pre-Fender O's and A's will be worth a lot more than their descendants. Just like pre-CBS Fenders are worth a lot more than those produced after they took over. |

+1
New one looks like an example of "design by committee". Had my share of designs turn hideous when subjected to clients like that. After awhile you just get tired of trying to save them from themselves.
...unless they are planning on doing away with the bowl. careful, don't give 'em any ideas! |

I am sure the knob up on the bout under my arm would have similar problems. I had an 83 Country Artist cutaway (man was the wood on that beautiful) and it had the stacked knobs at the waist. Whenever I had that guitar on a strap, the knobs dug into my rib cage. If I had kept the guitar, I would have sent it to the factory for modern electronics.
The stacked knobs at the waist suck..... |
