I met the perpetrator and his father at court today. I was there to make sure something got done. Did it ever.

I approached the father out in a hallway and told him I was the guy looking for a guitar. Glad I did because once they completed their business in court the father had me follow him and his son downtown, then gave me the Millenium back.

Long story short, the Dad was mortified at what transpired and the kid gave me a sincere apology and offered to make any restitution required. He's a tiny little guy about up to my chest. I've made my share of mistakes and since they returned everything outside of court I said I would put in a good word with the state's attorney. Maybe his life can be salvaged but he has a long way to go, along with the other conspirators, with the court system.

Will post some pics of the recovered guitars, #698 DB and Millenium soon. They need a good cleaning but are otherwise undamaged.

Thanks to all who have kept an eye out for the Millenium. Without the OFC I would not have either guitar back. Donation on the way.

I'm glad you got your guitars back ... but also glad you have the opportunity to help turn a life around. Sometimes decent kids do stupid things (boy, do I ever know that) ... and I truly believe that sometimes it takes a hard lesson to learn right from wrong and the associated consequences. Let's hope this is the case here.

What a great ending to this saga! You can only hope this kid finds a new path, and it sounds like his Dad is involved so that's a good thing. As a new father myself I can't imagine what it must feel like to see your son get into this sort of stuff. Let's hope I never do...

Good for you. Getting your property back AND unharmed...truly the exception. It's good to see that the father had some moral fortitude.

That's great news! Too often these stories don't have a happy ending.

I hope the kid is able to get beyond his stupid behavior and turn his life around. Sounds like he has some support. He's lucky you're not a vindictive person.

Congrats! Looking forward to pictures!

As a previously stupid kid, I never got caught. But if I had, i would hope that someone like you would have given me a chance to fix it and change the path I was on. Nice goin'.

Great news!!! And Good On Ya Sir for having some compassion towards the kid who stole it. Hopefully this was only his first strike and he can straighten out his life. It's waaaay too easy for kids to do stoooopid. Especially when running around with the "wrong crowd" (coconspirators)!!!

Some might say that the OFC is the crowd our parents warned us about...

I've had a really crappy day. This put a smile on my face.
Happy for you Geo. You've got a good heart and sometimes in a rare blue moon, the good guy wins.

Sometimes the best kid from the best parents gets off track. I hope you helped and also hope you never have to go through anything similar again.

Fantastic news George, first time I've been around the board in a few days so I'm late to hear your good news.
I'm really happy for you.
