The DIY Dude posted this Photo...

Which inspired me to do this...

But it ended up looking like this...

So I survived my first neck reset, plus I glued that nasty crack back together. It used to look like this...

I neglected to take a photo of the heel... But you can still see where the crack was, but it is together now.
That heel cap pulled right off once I had disassembled the neck, but now it is on there permanently.
And I am quite satisfied with the string height and the way it turned-out. I put a fresh set of EJ16's on there, and it did not fall apart! :D

Besides a successful neck reset and nice pics, that's a 'keeper' quilt. Homemade quilts are my family's treasures.

Is there a thread that goes into detail on the DIY neck reset? I'd love a link if there is. I have an '84 Ultra Deluxe 1317 that could use some tweaking that I'd like to do.

Totally OT, but I was showing photos of my new 2058T at work and my friends were asking,
"Where did you get that quilt? That's worth more than the Guitar!"
Then they were horrified to discover that I actually USE it as a quilt!

Caution:

Anyone that actually listens to me or takes my advice should seek proffessional help first!

Most likely a Guitar Tech or Luthier! :D

If it works - I'll share the credit and if'n it don't - we never had that conversation!

The bolt ons are sure a lot easier to deal with.
