Scio, Oregon...I guess that would be a logging truck. |

With all due respect to the seller, where does this kind of information come from? The seller either thinks the eBay Ovation market fell off trucks, as Peter observed, OR some dealer took him to the cleaners.
I have heard comparable spiels in the state to the east of me (Iowa) these last weeks. |

That was a rather amazing response he sent you. Now I even better understand the title you gave the original thread.
If the guy gigs as much as he says, he must be more musically articulate than he is literary.
I suspect he still has the guitar...

Peter,
Congrats on your score. Anytime you can get even a fairly recent USA made Ovation 12 in great condition is an excellent deal. |

(The number of times this guy used the word "custom" in his somewhat brief but nonsensical description:-) |

That should include "for under $400"!
If you pay more, it should be Custom. :p |

Location: the BIG Metropolis of TR | Go look under this guy's feedback and look at the "vintage junk" he's buying.........then you'll understand why he thinks his Ovation 12 is "custom" and should be worth what he's asking......look what he's compairing it to!!

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | Gender & erudition, notwithstanding, the value assessed by the seller versus the concensus of The Membership is entertaining. I find no indications or evidence to support the inflated value placed on this instrument, either. Probably explains for the comparatively caustic, and defensive, posturing of the seller of this "vintage" instrument.
Caveat emptor,

I wonder if the dead Stevie reference is supposed to be SRV? Because Jimi was a close personal friend of mine and he told not to buy from people like this.
I don't know about you folks, but I'm certainly impressed. |

| I have a 1978 Ovation 1619 Custom that will be for sell on ebay this week. I will post a new thread when it starts and give everyone the link.
I'm don't smoke, so this will be a no reserve auction where the buyers set the price.
