| Hey I am the proud Father of 2 Wonderful Daughters! My oldest has successfully learned how to play the basic shords and change through them strumming as well as picking.
OK That was my deal I told her when she could do that well I would get her a good guitar.
I know she wants something with bright colors so I am after a nice CC or CS Ovation in Blue or Red or????? cutaway shallow. I am looking for something in the $300-$350 range? Anyone have anything here? Figured I would ask here first then hit the web sites and local stores before Christmas. Thanks Randy |

Location: Upper Left USA | I have been considering one of the Purple Quilt Celebacifics I see from time to time for my daughter if she gets to that level.
I was working on a guitar last night and mentioned that "I could pick one up for you if you got serious enough about it".
Two minutes later she's practicing her chords to an Avril Lavigne tune!
For now it comes and goes. |

| Yeah Emmalee is really trying and I figured the guitar incentive might sweeten the pot a bit but to be honest I have not told her yet? She's pretty smart though and most likely remembers I did tell her over a year ago I would get a nice New Ovation if she could learn G, C, D, A, & E and change between them. She's doing it! Her little fingers have been hurting her and I changed the old Acoustic she has, to a super light set of electric guitar stings. It's been about 6 months of approx. 6 - 10 hours a week or so? She's catching on fast! So I am on the Bay and looking for a nice quilted CS top? No matter the color so much. Bet these Celeb's sound as nice as my Elite did anyway? Wish I could swing one of Al's newer Adamas models? Ohh Well.

Location: SoCal | You should get one of Al's Adamii and then give her your Elite. She'd love to have Dad's guitar. Can you explain this to your wife? Want me to do it? After all, you're only doing this for your daughter. |

| I sold the Elite this last winter. Or that would be a really good idea! I have replaced it with the Adamas's I always wanted. I still need to get a good Classical with a deep bowl for myself and I suppose I will wait and try to find a more modern cutaway version.
For my oldest Daughter (and my youngest, in time) I am going to go with the, brightly colored and fantastic looking, quilted top CS Celebrity's. These should take them through at least College as long as they care for them.
They seem to have a good bang for the buck. I notice some of the used ones with the quilted tops can go for more than I was able sell my more expensive elite model for. |

Location: Tennessee | Hey, Randy, why not go for the Al Pepiak model being discussed in another thread. Looks like a quilted top, and an incredible shade of purple to boot. Not blue or red, but definitely close to what would come out if you mixed blue and red together. Comes complete with the GurlyGurl strap. If you want unique ... this has got it in spades. |

| I saw that one! Figured I better let Al have that one.
I have bids on two nice CS figured maple tops now. I'll get one of em. Gonna spend more than $350 though.
I know She always wanted one with the muti-hole top just like her Dad's! And I want to get her one she can enjoy and show off for many years! And hey maybe I can borrow it sometimes too! |
