Beat off the vultures!
All kidding aside... don't give up your 1537 just yet.
If the world won't adapt to you, you adapt to it.
I've found that playing Jeff Healey style gets me past some playing challenges, but now I have to teach myself to fret “upside-down”. |

Are you planning a silent auction here or will you be stating an asking price? |

John.. One offer of $1000 US. |

I look forward to the pics. |

Please forgive me as you are ABSOLUTELY correct in that you were the first to POST "LTPR" as my name and thereby hold all exclusive copyrights! I am not worthy of your kindness, but I do appreciate you granting me permission to use this signature and saving me some keystrokes!! My hands will not fatigue as quickly now thereby giving me more quality practice time on my Adamas. Thanks Dave -- you also are THE MAN!!

The 1537 on ebay has a liget sn and he quickly answered questions and offered to send more pics. I think I would request the extra pics and see what they look like.
Downside is low feedback. I know that I and Tony and some others have ofter requested a sellers phone number so I could talk to them, ask questions, have them strum the guitar, etc.
If I did not have one, and I got additional photos and talked to the seller, I would probably feel comforatable bidding it up to $1100 or so. Since he takes Paypal, some of the risk is lessened (specially if you pay by cc, then you have cc recourse in the event of fraud).
Plus if you talk to him, he might tell you the reserve price and that should give you an idea if you want it or can afford it. |

| ..yep, he doesn't have any buyers yet...but he sure seems to have the hottest elite out there these days, it'll be interesting to see the bidding in the last 5 minutes of this auction...but, it's out of my league right now, i think i'll wait for a shot at that 1768-C that just relisted...

I would email him and check it out. |

That made me suspicious. I am trying to have my daughter, who lives in Moscow, check it out, but I haven't been able to reach her and the owner didn't give me his phone number. It should be easy for me to figure out if he's legit, but it hasn't been so far. If it doesn't sell for the reserve, I will try to check it out next week when I will be in Moscow. |

MY QUESTIONS: do you have a picture showing the bowl area chips? any other damage to the bowl, to include any stress lines? fret wear? any chips and/or scratches? cracks (to include finish cracks)? damage to the wood binding? any separation of bridge? pre-amp working, condition of tone/vol knobs? any repairs that have been made? condition of the OHSC (case)? any chips, scratches, or other damage to the neck and headstock? any separation or damage to the epaulets?
HIS RESPONSE:
I can email you a picture of the bowl area chips. There are no scratches or chips in the finish on the front, back or fretboard or headstock. the pre-amp works good, the tone volume knobs are wood and are in good condition, only one repair was made to the internal electronics, which came separated once, but were promply repaired. The case is in great shape, and there is no separation of the epaulets. I will get that email out to you tomorrow of the bowl |

Mine has only a small "dent" near the finger board under the low E string (you have to tilt the guitar to see it) and one finish crack. Beyond that nearly perfect.....maybe I should trade it straight up for an Adamas....never mind, you guys will just accuse me of being fickle, stay with the 1537 adn all that other stuff. Long way from the $250 some of you offered me a week or two back....wassup with that? |

Did you notice that somebody on another ebay guitar (I think it was the cedar topped elite) glued the fretboard to the top with silicone sealant. When information is so available on the internet, there's no excuse for not knowing better. |

I'm not certain that you can always perceive the gap. |

Mine is definately in the credit card realm (maybe an Family sized King James Bible...okay, not that bad). I have noticed that with seasonal changes, I will get a buzz on one or two strings above the 12th fret. Good info to know that this is correct. |

She said it looks fine on the front, chipped on the back and seems to play OK (she's a beginning guitar player and not fond of Ovations). But get this. It wasn't tuned. She didn't have time to tune it or a place to check out the electronics. I just couldn't believe that he wouldn't tune it before showing it. Same thing with the 99 Collector's I just bought though. I had to take a battery to test it and it was out of tune. Grad student needs money. I'll let someone else support him. |
