I don't know how GC-OWNER could have let this beaut go, but I'm now the proud parent of my newest adoptee.

This '81 puppy is nearly faultless...

Yeah, yeah, the strings aren't perfectly wound. Sue me...

Kevin , thanx brother! BTW, can ya see the ding? Didn't think so...

Nice score. That's a beauty for sure...I'm a sucker for a good 'burst.

Iffy,

Great guitar. I too love the way Ovation does Sunburst.

I'll bet it sounds better than it looks. those 12 fret slothead 12 strings are a cannon.

Very nice. I really like the brown bowls ... especially with -1.

Johnny, well done. Very nice guitar indeed. I think it's a boomer and a good replacement of the -1- finish you delivered to me.
Congrats.

Riccardo ,

I did get a CB-4 but it doesn't have the 'open soul' that yours has. I'm on the lookout for one like I sent you!

...and yes, ol' GC is a boomer!

Congrats Johnny, I really like the looks of a 12 fret slot 12er, just wish I could keep one around without getting the urge to sell it.

Damn Johnny, you really did give it "the treatment" ! It looks fantastic! I'm just glad she got there in one piece for ya'

Looks great, and I can't even see the little dent that was on the front. Damn nice.

GC_OWNER,

There's several tricks involved:

First, the ding only had a couple of very small 'light' spots. Several judicious applications of a black felt tip eliminated the 'highlights'

Now here's something I discovered with a different git. Once I clean with a slightly damp rag and then dry, I hand apply lemon oil to the top and hand rub with pressure. I then immediately buff with a mico-fiber cloth. The oil does an outstanding job on removing smudges and beer splatter. What a deep luster! Plus this also insures the the bridge base edges gets oil. I then use Dunlop 65 as a final step.

The third 'trick' was the angle of the pic. I actually shot that angle to see if I could discern the 'dimple', noper.

The fretboard is actually a deep black but the fill flash angle lighten its appearance (I'm not Damon ).

This is what I sent Kevin when I received the GC; "I never thought the name ‘Glenn’ could take my breath away, but man, you did it!" It is really a stunning guitar!

Again, thanx Kevin aka GC_OWNER!!!
