but I have been working on the Living Room...

wish Char was here.... but if it's her "Normal" stay in the Heart Center it's gonna be a week or two yet...

anyone want to come over and play?

Slydog's on his way over..... really love our new place on the river... but is a Great big Empty right now. It sure beats the old Mobile home though... we're donating it to a local mission and halfway house.

this living room is HUGE, that's a 35 inch flat screen on the wall..... haven't pulled out the tape yet, but think it's about 16.5x30 with 14 foot plank ceilings.... yes the amp is HUGE it's a Shen 60 from Mr Big himself... great deal!

what's really great about being in "Old Malabar" is everyone else here is an "Old Hippie" like Char and I,... even tho a few of them are 20 years our senior... we have a couple of Taverns and Biker bars less than a mile away, and we're tucked in under the oaks... and just out of sight.

like I said.... Key West meets Madison, FL...

Thanks Mike! we've got parking for about 15 or so... and coolers and seating to accommodate about 50 people... I've got yard I haven't uncovered yet...(damn rednecks, but I might find a car)...

actually have an entire VW bug stuffed inside an old Airstream behind that privacy fence... and an 18 wheeler, 2 boats, an old monster sat dish, and a shed full of old outboards, marine grade lumber and fuel cells...

down to three O's and my total cash investment in all 3 is less than one of the one's I just sold to a member in the UK, the 85-x custom classical elite made for Gatlin...

at one time I had 14, just simplifying things, tho I do need a wideneck and another classical...

funny thing happened to me on the Bay the other day... went to bid on a nice old Applause Classical with a cedar top... and the seller has me banned from bidding, I'm pretty sure he's a member here, but I've never had any dealings either good or bad with them, but for some reason he'd rather not have my business...

anyway, Jafran, whoever you are, if you could let me know how I may have slighted you, I'd like to make it up to you and buy the Classical. I have a 2 knobber preamp setup and a thinline that will swap in like a charm.

yep, I've started crooning and croaking again, just a Shure 58. I've got a little Behringer 10 channel mixer with phantom and xlr that does the trick sending what I want either to the Roland, the Shen, or the CM30 Monitor.. my AG stomp has a digital spdif out... and have been using that with my Phillips Surround sound 350 watt Home Entertainment Center and in 5 Channel digital with the 2 sub tubes, and the ribbon tweeters on the corners with dual mid drivers, and a line array center channel it's pretty impressive. not quite Bose, but definitely SPACIOUS and Complete and full coverage and very rich sound.

Hi all,

Char's still inpatient, she's had a stroke over the past day or two, and is not in good shape and is being moved from the heart center to neurology, she's had an echocardio today so far, and is going down for another mri, and then another ct scan, the speech therapist has just left and has ok'd her to go back onto eating solids. as she's been on nothing but clear liquids for the past 9 days this at least made her feel a little better having some real food..

she's very aphasic, and has quite a bit of right-side paralysis and trouble speaking or staying focused..

prayers and well wishes appreciated.

Thanks,

Glenn

Gawd how I wish I could meet you face-to-face! You are about the lowest creature I've had the unpleasant opportunity to come across on the web or anywhere as far as that goes!

I didn't know that mental institutions or maybe a prison allowed patients/inmates web access.

If you take umbrage with my post, PM me for my address and ya can come on down and we'll 'discuss' the issue.

Thanks all, and AL, it's been a rough day, the move over to neurology was not good... she's always been seen and cared for in the Heart Center (read Ritz-Carlton 30x30 single rooms with hdtv) and then she has the stroke and has to be moved to the old part of the hospital in the A wing shared room and in the old part of the hospital, well she freaked out and thought she was being dumped in a home, when I left her before the move I thought that she understood that she was going to the OLD part of the hospital, when my son and I got back here she was backed in a corner, had 3 nurses at bay, and the security guards were in the hall, and they were getting ready to restrain and or gork her out... my son and I got her calmed down, and the hospital has locked off the room to other patients and is letting me spend the night here in the adjoining bed... but right now she doesn't even know me and is calling me by her son's and ex's name a good portion of the time... but she's resting comfortably now... hopefully she'll be better adjusted tomorrow and we can get her toward some recovery.

thanks for the prayers all,

Glenn

Glenn,

I truly wish I could be there to do anything to help. Just be assured that many of us are praying and pulling for you and Char.

Your situation is giving me major flashbacks to just over a year ago. All I can say is that from absolute despair and heartache beyond belief rises a LOVE that can not be appreciated nor diminished by those who have never endured such.

May you both ride on God's wings! Peace my brother...

Hi All, again thank you..

Char is progressing well, I have been there pretty much 24/7 since the stroke and she finally gave me leave to go home.. at least till tomorrow morning..

decompressing and working my O's, when I came home first thing this morning to hose off.. I tried to beat the 1115 into submission and it just rumbled harder.. played the 12 for almost 2 hours, took a shower and went back up... daughters and grandkids started showing up again and the nurses said she's no longer in a risk condition so also ok'd my night away.

came home, had a package from Rothesay in the box, so got to install some Ivoroids on the 2771, Paul I'm gonna need another set... these are nice! but yep they do slip on the Pings, no biggie.

still a big empty here, but she's getting better and will be home soon,

again, thank you for the prayers and well wishes,.

Opps sorry about that quote with no text - Glenn, I use to work with stroke patients and my mother also had a stroke in October. She was aphasic for a while also but she came back. The body is amazing with the way it can heal itself. I have worked with stroke patients in the past that I never thought would come around but they did - regained their speech and movement. The pressure on the brain is causing her problems - give it time for the blood from the stroke to absorbed and the pressure to be relieved - Hang on to that. My prayers are with you and Char

Given time the aphasia will subside and her motor skills will improve. Char was in the right place at the right time. The cardiologist and neurologist responded by giving Char clot busting drugs.

Char is being re-admitted to the hospital today, the stroke symptoms are progressing again, and she is unable to eat or keep anything in her system for any length of time due to nausea and incontinence. she is very weak, and the aphasia is increasing again...

I know you all are tired of me and this, and after today I probably won't be posting much....

but for those here that do care, your prayers are appreciated.

Thanks,

Glenn
