Location: closely held secret | Found this on the bay. Listed as an Ultra Deluxe 1578. Emailed the seller, asking him to check the label and he replied, "1578 Ultra Deluxe - new."
I don't find a 1578 in any of the reference, yet a google turned up this.
When did they start making Ultra's again, and why aren't they mentioned on the Osite?

We all should have looked behind the black curtain during the Q and A session. I went behind the curtain. The only thing I found was a bathroom. :( |

Location: boulder | I think it is figured mahogony. I played one at local music shop, pretty nice all in all. On the wall they had what I thought were new balladeers, but turned out to be new ultras (this was six about months ago). I think Al has one listed also on his site. of course all this may be wrong  mike |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Ultras showed up again around a year ago...you don't see them very much. The guitars are assembled overseas and the final quality check is done in CT (so says the label in the bowl).
There is an Ultra with a round sound-hole and an Ultra Deluxe with the "Adamas" sound-holes (like this one). Don't ask me why they aren't mentioned on the Ovation website. Perhaps they aren't considered big enough news compared to the LXs and the 2005 Collectors???

Location: closely held secret | Certainly pretty enough. My first O was a black Ultra Deluxe. Very decent guitar. |

| I own an Ovation Ultra Deluxe 1578. It is a nice guitar.
You can email ovation at askus@ovationguitars.com for more information on the guitar but it is not on their website.
It is a mahogony top. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | It looks very similar to the Nutmeg Quilted Maple of my daughter's Celebrity Deluxe, except the Ultra has more orange color in it. That may just be the picture. The CD also has a bound fretboard. Materials may not be as good, but I think the workmanship is very good. The sound is OK, probably the best one could expect from a laminated top and a mid-depth bowl. |
