Location: Toronto | That is exactly the guitar I am looking for, however that is more than I am looking to spend. I own an art gallery so if you are interested in doing a trade, I would be interested in discussing that. Thanks |

Location: Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey | I have an 1869 Custom Legend I'm looking to sell. Different than the ebay one though. Black, carved bridge, cutaway, shallow bowl, optima preamp in good condition. I think I bought it around '94 (is that old enough?). Been gigged and has some wear(2-3 small, minor top dings, nothing through the paint), but has certainly been taken good care of. Great sound, very comfortable to play. I'm hesitant to sell her, but have to. $750 plus shipping, includes case. Contact me if by email if you're interested.
Be well! |

Location: Toronto | That is my concern, so thanks for that Roger.
Since I will only be using the Custom Legend (when I find one) acoustically, it probably makes sense to find a deep bowl version. I have one of the original Adamas II guitars and love it. |

Look forward to hearing what Tony has available. Kinda sounds like you may have a large collection down there in beautiful San Diego (one of my favourite places in the world). Cheers Guys. |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | I saw a used but not abused 1769 Custom Legend of roughly this vintage at Motor City Guitar in Waterford Twp., MI yesterday afternoon for $839 with case. Nice shape....needed strings, but sounded good. DEEP BOWL. With what appeared to be an Optima pre-amp. The color was either black or a very dark Cadillac Green, hard to tell in the dim light of the acoustic room.
Only issue that I could see was that the top of the headstock had made a little contact with something.

| Hey John you in here?
contact Zorjon aka John Dennis, he usually has several of the deep-bowls and 12's available. I know that he has a cl 12 for sale, and I think he may have a 6 string as well.
God Bless,

Please check your e-mail, I believe I have the 1619 Custom Legend, natural, 70's you are looking for at a much better price. See it in Member Access Album under George. Upgraded to OP-50 at factory; deep bowl. I'm original owner.

| hey george,
dennis didn't affect us much other than rain and a strong blow(i'm on the east coast), pensacola and the gulf didn't fare as well but dodged a bullet, nothing too bad.went down to a cat 3... current winds around there and mobile down to around 50mph,
we're still recovering from jeanne, and frances tho.. took out most of our place here, getting it back together again just in time for the new season.
according to the supposed experts we still have another 14 or so named storms to come through this year.
God Bless,
Glenn |

My gallery is in Port Credit (south part of Mississauga). Also have a website www.rivercoyote.ca. We specialize in original art by established Canadian painters and a few American artists from the southwest. Cheers |

Location: Toronto | Well, the search has finally ended. I have purchased a sunburst Custom Legend from Tony. It is on its way from San Diego to Toronto, maybe I should have just moved to San Diego and saved the shipping cost, that is a wonderful part of California. I'll see what kind of song the guitar writes. Thanks for everyone's emails regarding my quest. Cheers |

Location: SoCal | Well, that's assuming we can find a way to ship to Canada for less than 25% of the cost of the guitar ($600.)
Once shipped to Italy by Global Express Mail (EMS). EMS to Canada is 3-5 days (post office & FedEx) so I ship yesterday...not bad, $54.25 (numbers don't include insurance costs.) Got a call today from the post office...I go in and find that EMS is limited to items no greater than 79" length & girth - maybe a mandolin? So, add'l for Global Express Guaranteed (2-3 days) which allows 108" length & girth...now, because of the size, even though it was a few ounces under 20 pounds, they charge the rate for 47 pounds...$151.20. Made a couple of jokes about filling the box with rocks to make it a true 47 pounds.
Took the guitar back and got a refund.
Now I have to find a way to send it to Toronto at a reasonable cost. Either a different shipper or is someone planning to visit the gallery??
Any ideas?? |

Location: boulder | Tony,
Can you find a thinner box that is still strong. I shipped a guitar overseas through USPS, but used a slightly thinner guitar box (i do not think it was an ovation box). The cubed dimensions came to about 106 ". It cost me less then $80 (colorado to france). I shipped another item to Texas, but used a box slightly bigger then 108" cubed, it cost me $80. not sure if this helps, mike |

Sorry that Tony has to go through this added hassle, but we will find a way. |
