my name is rafal and I am new on this board. English is not my first language. I hope you don't mind it. I would like to say hallo to everybody.
I fell in love with ovation guitars some time ago. I would like to buy one. I live in Ireland at the moment and it seems that there are no too
many shops in europe where you can find some ovation guitars hanging on the wall so that you can try one or two models. I browsed ovation website on the internet as well and there are many series of ovation guitars available and many models in one series.I would like to buy ovation that is suitable for soloing mainly and my budget is 1500 dollars. Can you recommend any models that are within my budget limitations and which serve my purpose of soloing ?
Please, help me in this matter
regards

Location: Delaware | Welcome Rafapak, you will get lots of information here. Don't worry about the "not so good english" Most guys here don't read so good english! I know you will have to describe your playing style in more depth for the knowledgable members to help you. Fingerpicking, strumming melodys, lead solo, etc. |

Location: ireland | well, I am lead solo player, I play alternate picking a lot. I watched ovation gallery and there are two series that I like best : elite and custom legend, well I think I would prefer guitar with shallow body. Do you know guitars I mentioned above?

Location: Utah | The shallow body will have a thin sound, whereas the mid, deep, or contour will have a more full sound, like a wood guitar (but better :) ). If you are going to only play plugged into an amp, the shallow bowl will sound good, but by itself the shallow bowls don't sound full or rich.
With the exchange rate being so favorable to you, you might consider buying something from the USA and having it shipped to you. Contact Al at Lost Art Vintage.
Either one of the guitar series you mentioned will be nice. You could also consider buying a used Adamas, such as the 2080. |

Al is your man. Here's his website:

A Viper would be an excellent choice if you're playing plugged in only.
Here's Glen Campbell doing a demo just for you!

Location: ireland | hi, well, I would like to be able to play lead solos both plugged and unplugged
. Do you think medium shallow body is the right choice? What do you think about celebrity series? Are they worth recommending?
