Location: Boise, Idaho | There's a Book Elite on ebay that was listed before and the subject of a thread a couple weeks ago. The starting bid dropped by $200. It didn't get any bids last time. Might be worth it this time.
I'll see if I can do a link:

Location: Boise, Idaho | I was going to bid when I got home, but my wife asked me what this email was about. It was a shipping notice from the Calman/Christensen adoption agency. She doesn't believe that anyone would be sending me a guitar that I haven't paid for. There's no explaining the weirdness on this board.
Hope you get it Tim. Maybe we can swap back and forth. My wife knows I don't like to let go, though. |

Mark, your prolific posting amazes me. You're a great communicator. |

I thought I'd be surprising you. I even made sure that the box for, "notify recipient via email", was NOT checked. So much for USPS Online Postage. I guess I didn't clear-out the "sender's" field either, from the last time I used it... so... hey Mark, Tony and I are sending you a couple sets of strings.
I am sorry for any excitement I might have caused. What if I make it up to you by loaning you the U681T for a while? |

Location: Boise, Idaho | That's OK, Noah. I can use some excitement. Linda was sure suspicious, though. Now I'll have no excuse to change strings, but, although I try to play all my guitars, the 1537 gets played more than all the others put together. |

Time for the next lesson. If you do it like this it doesn't make the page so wide. |

BTW - You're a quick learner Mr Attorney. It took me 16 months to work out the quote thing and 17 months to work out how to link a picture. Plainly Idaho has more than potatoes to offer. Kent is famous for fruit and beer. I only fit into one category. |

It's a age-old secret shared only by certain shamans and mystics, all of whom have taken a vow of death before we would reveal it. But since you asked, I'll tell you.

Tim, let me know if there is anything on my list you'd like to borrow for awhile. I'm afraid you'd get the short end of that deal. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | How about a week in McCall, or a very unused boat? There are just too many guitars I'd like to buy. I'm still thinking about that 1624 and bid on a Viper that's going pretty cheap. I think I could get by for awhile on a guitar budget of only about $1000 a month. That's lunch money for the big city boys. |

Location: North Idaho | I know where your coming from. For the price, I don't think you could go wrong on the 1624. Stephent28's Book End caught my attention, but it whent by in such a hurry I was saved from the buy bug. I am a bit concerned on this one because of the gig bag. Who would put a guitar like this in a gig bag? |

Location: Boise, Idaho | My wife was relieved to find out that the package from the C/C Adoption agency, alias Noah, alias Bruce arrived today in the mailbox.
She was relieved that it fit in the mailbox. She suspected that I bought another guitar from Noah. I never asked her what other suspicions she may have had when she got the shipping notice from an adoption agency. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Congrats, Tim. That's another one I'll have to borrow from you. I threw in a bid at the end when I noticed someone outbid you and I was wondering if you were watching. I missed out on the 1624 and gave some serious thought to getting this one if you didn't, but I'm glad you got it. |

Location: North Idaho | Whew..Just about gave up. I didn't notice you had come in. I should have emailed you. This one will probably spend a lot of time on HW55. I hope it will sound close to the 1547. I wonder if the fretboard could be unglued from the top like the 1537/47? 'The Book' has AAA top and maybe the same bracing. Should be very interesting to play with XLR electronics on a mixer. If the weather is as nice your way as up here, we will have to meet up in McCall in Feb. I am also working on aquiring some USB microphones, mixer, and Sonar 5. |

Location: North Idaho | Just got off the phone with the seller making shipping arrangements. This is a NOS. The 'small chip' is a mark in the wood, not a scratch or ding. As they are an official O dealer, supposedly has full warranty. The so called 'fretware' in the original post was simply tarnish on the frets, as it has not been played for sometime. Seller said he has been playing this last week by his desk, and if wouldn't have sold, was going to keep it for himself because of the 'unbelieveable sound'. It has a $2600 price tag on it. BTW, 44 confirmed watchers and I did not have it marked. Thanks guys for allowing this to come my way and add to the OFC family. The seller stated that was an unusual number of 'watchers' for an item. |

Location: North Idaho | I've been having troubles posting lately, but here goes--hopefully posts in less than five minutes.
Hope to have more details and pics by tomorrow. This is definitely a 5 3/4 deep bowl. I just restrung both 1547 and book with exp16s. The 1547 has more bass, the book has ringing mids and trebles. Both play equally well with the book having a satin finished modified oval neck similar to an adamas w. I still probably prefer the gloss modified V 1547. The action is very low with less that .080" on the 6 string 12th fret. Definitely a remarkable piece with fantastic sound. The voicing is a bit more 'woody' than the 1547 but still very close. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite. Another great O that's hard to stop playing. |

CWK2....can you chime in.....were some of the "Book" elites made with a deep bowl?
Tim, regardless, you got a very nice guitar at a great price. I am just curious about this since Dave and I both definately have mid-bowls. |

I was also looking back at some old posts and this does not have the underside birch veneer like the 1537/47 and 87 C. |
