| Okay, so I'm Jonesin' for the 2006 collectors. I... must.... have... it.
With that in mind I'm selling off every other O I have.
I'll get the list together and post it here, but it includes the shiny bowl six that was my first ovation '68 deluxe balladeer, (still in great shape) $300*, the CE-768, and two "specials" I happened upon.
Special one is a pretty good condition deep bowl case for $75. I'll include the beat up, though extremely playable pacemaker 12 that I got in it. It's got a couple of varnish cracks and the bowl was reglued to the top on the lower bout. It's also missing some binding. Still plays great.
Two is an Ultra GS with humbucker, single, single. One knob is replaced with fender and it's got two 70's era stickers on the guitar, one the ecology flag and one bob marley. It needs it's pots cleaned but it seems to work fine apart from that.
$125 with case.
I'll get pics and more descriptions of the first two items tomorrow.
You can email me at nick at guitarnoise dot com
*forgot the case, I paid $75 for it, let's call it $350 with the case. I posted this below, just wanted to call you attention to the change. Sorry for any confusion. |

I'm also unable to PM you, so please email me at: jhall10@cfl.rr.com ... I'd like to talk to you about buying back the '68 Deluxe Balladeer. When I sold it to you last year, I was in kind of a desparate financial situation and was liquidating a bunch of my O's. I've since had more than my share of regrets about letting that one go. I'd be much obliged if you'd shoot me an email. Thanks... |

| I will send to you both.
Here is the Ultra and two of the deluxe balladeer. I forgot I got it without a hard case, so $350 for the balladeer and case. That's the $300 I paid and $50 for the case, $25 less than I paid.
The Ultra, note the lovely replacement volume knob. Anything that looks like a scratch is sticker residue. I got off most of it, but heck for $125 that's as much effort as I could muster. No other scratches. Some of the screw heads are a little rusty and one of the pickups has a non-original screw. It's all original apart from that as far as I can tell, it even has the original whammy bar I think.
The balladeer and case. No cracks anywhere.

Waskel your probably right.... It is just too funny to read the posts from this site though. I am sure even mine will be funny to me in a while too.
What was it Dr. Evil said in that Austin Powers movie....

| Here is the pacemaker 1115-1 that comes free with the case. :)
Like I said, it isn't pretty, but it sure plays.
The saddle is out and I'll ship the original, and a vintage package that has a new saddle and shims.
Picture of the missing binding
Overall guitar, not the case it ships in.
One of the surface cracks, soundhole and label

| One more thing, the other guitar is a Custom Elite CE-768.
This is the one I traded my Martin D-15s for with Tony C.
The only issue is it has an approx. one inch varnish crack on the lower bout by the end pin. It was stabilized before I got it. It hasn't changed since. Tony is the one who chatted with Mothership and stabilized the varnish crack. A good job me thinks. That's the only thing stopping this one from being mint. Well there is the spot where I drooled on it when I first opened the case, but that's to be expected.

It is absoulutely gorgeous - 1997. |

I've got quite a bit of interest in the 68 shiny bowl. That will probably go this weekend. |

If you want to fit in you'll have to get a carpet like Al has for photographing guitars. It is a key element to his success! |

| And the Ultra is off to the midwest, the pacemaker is gone,
Somebody buy the '68 shiny bowl before I change my mind. It's one of the nicest acoustics I've played. Really good condition too. No cracks of any way shape or form.
The CE does have the XLR. |

Time to learn about binding and that neat little Dremel guide I saw at Stewmac. Koa or Tourtise(sp), that is the real question! |

I did take the Ultra. Mark I was bidding on one also, we probably bid against each other. Sorry if it was you. I wont see this Ultra it until I get home from KC. I'm here for a month. However my kid, who really loves to play the Base will get to play it first.
BTW Thanks Nick |

Location: Boise, Idaho | No problem. It wasn't for me, but I hope you didn't run up the price too much. The buyer's wife works with me and she was pissed at me for turning him onto it. I'd have been in really big trouble if I bought another one. |

Location: SoCal | Just a suggestion but don't wait too long on the CE768 Custom Elite (a Custom Legend with more than one sound hole). IMHO, played better than the Al DiMeola II that I had.
It is a 1997 and a gorgeous guitar. I got it from Paul Blanchard, tossed in a new 9158 case, then traded to Nick for his Martin D-15 slothead.
It's coming back to the "adoption agency" soon if there are no takers.
Frankly, IMHO, you couldn't find a better guitar for less than $850. |

The GS arrived today. The box was mangled but the GS and case were not. My wife strummed it while I was on the phone. Now I have to wait about 3 weeks before I can clean the pots and play her. BTW she loved the color!
Thank you,

Location: Upper Left USA | After casting the Deep Bowl case into the closet I went to work on the Free 1115-1 that came with. Al, take some sales tips from Nick!
Used White Epoxy and smooved over the missing binding and semi aligned bowl. :D
Worked over some of the finish cracks and took the finish from 400-600-100-1500-2000-2400-3600-6000-8000-1200 grits (lost my 4000). A little haze polish and some carnuba, new set of strings and it was back in competition!
Thanks Nick! |
