If you look at the Q&A down toward the bottom of the listing, someone wrote: "I'm interested in this but I think you're high." Have to wonder if that's a reference to the guys opening bid or his state of mind? Actually, I think it's a fairly reasonable price, though I doubt he'll get much more than that, based on recent history.

Have y'all noticed how a few ebay sellers recently have tried (in vain, I suspect) to capitalize on the reissue GC 12's by asking ridiculously high opening bids for their old, used ones?

It's not a high price at all....the person asking the question is "posturing", trying to get it cheaper, IMHO.

There were several 1118 and 1618's that went for over $750 last year. I bought a 1981 #1118 (dark sunburst) last year for $565 and it was dollars well spent.

There are great deals out there but sometimes you get less than you expect. Mine is a 9.8 of 10.
