Wow! He must be clearing out his collection so he can get those doors for the house he promised his wife a year ago!

And maybe this is a little after the fact, but are there fret markers along the side of the neck?

Yes, there are dots along the side of the fretboard, just like all my other Ovations.

I have a couple Ovations that don't have dots along the edge of the fretboard.

OK. I first wrote all ovations, then changed it to MY ovations. All mine do.

I noticed. My new one (87 Collector's) has the dots. I need them to tell me where I am, not that I'm on the right fret anyway.

If I wind up winning this one, it'll be my first Ovation, much less Adamas.

*displays newbie hat*

Way to start!

Be carefull, once you get started...you can't stop! Seriously though, nice looking guitar. You really can't go wrong with one of these.

I imagine. I've got a thing for unusual guitars already... my baby is a closed-chamber Alvarez-Yairi, and I use a pair of baritones.

I've taken to doing a lot of percussion on the soundboard lately, so I'd like a guitar that's built to withstand it. =)

Once you've visited a Baskins Robbins its hard to go back to Vanilla!

The best way to ease the pain is to share the affliction!

I've played a few Ovations, and enjoyed them (I think the 2003 Collector's in particular), but knew that I'd ultimately kick myself for shelling out however much money and not getting an Adamas. I've already got a pair of songs where I just beat the hell out of the guitar, and I'm really excited to get to do some scratchy stuff on the textured top.

So yeah.. I would like a textured top, but need one with a cutaway. I'm also bent on the 4-band EQ. So, looky here, that's the guitar I want. =)

i assmue you've seen (heard) Kaki King? If not, you should definitely make note of her style. Right up your alley. (do a search on this forum for more links)

Oh, she plays an Adamas too.

I'm a huge fan of Kaki's music, and she is how I found out about the Adamas in the first place a couple years ago.

****

And I will bid higher, if someone outbids me. Till then, I'm thinking $676 would be a steal. =)

I know! I was stuck out of town when the auction ended. Someone's getting a great deal, and I'm bummed that that someone wasn't me.

Maybe this means I should hold out for a smaller bowl or OP50 electronics... :(
