I was just thinking about you earlier today when I was posting up pics of my 12 string project.
Whatever became of the custom guitar you were having built? Haven't seen any updates in a while. |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Tony,im in no real hurry. The guitar is wonderful.I kept it over my other slotheads because of the wider neck, the sound and because it was so clean...
Stephen, the project is almost done.I should have it by july 8th..Brian had some other projects he had to finish and mine was put on back burner.Again,i was in no hurry.I will try and take a few pics and update my galary.. |

| Sam Hey.... Good to hear from you again! That Deacon you sold me is great fun.
I have a 1973, Caddilac Eldorado, Indy Pace Car that is going up for sale as soon as I get the top replaced and new rubber all round.
If that wide neck Slothead is still around after I sell this antique car, I'd give the 5 figures I know it is worth to own it. I have been looking at this guitar in your photo's since I first joined this group. What an absolute show stopper!!
Anyway good luck on the sales and thanks again for offering these guitars for sale in here and not on the web.

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | One other thing about this slothead wideneck is that while most all the early slotheads that i have owned and played the gold paint on the binding has worn off on the sides and usually intact on the top front of binding. With this guitar the gold is all there front and sides of binding.
I did not notice on the new 47RI do they have the gold on the binding? |

I will buy a Lotto Ticket today and see if God wants me to have this guitar. After all, it wouldn't change me as a person and I'd still go to work each day...
Thanks for the opportunity to at least dream about it.
It would be a worthwhile Re-issue (or OFC Model). Of course if we do a "Wings" re-issue ther would have to be a "Nancy Wilson" re-issue to follow! This could get good! |

Location: SoCal | except for the width of the neck (yes, I know that is important to some), this is the OFC guitar.
as the width of the neck doesn't affect the other parts of the guitar (i.e., bowl, top, etc.), maybe they could make 6-7 wide necks and
6-7 standard? |

Location: Phoenix AZ | If Ovation came out with a 1689-8 slothead reissue (Blue wideneck A/E), they would probably sell quite a few of them. Very few people who own the 1187 #47 reissue would buy a 1687 slothead reissue if the only difference between the two was the color and the electronics. But if there was a 1689-8 slothead reissue I could see quite a few #47 owners being interested in it due to the wide neck.
Dave
PS - Notice I never once mentioned cofzay targuizay! |
