Location: Earth·SolarSystem·LocalInterstellarCloud·Local Bub | I bid on a High end bike that "looked" VERY much like this Ute auction... No real pictues though desribed as though the guitar is in his posession, seller was listed as having good feedback, first timer high bidder etc... and it turned out to be a scam.
not saying this one is... just shares characteristics of one I know to be a scam. Be careful out there. |

Location: Massachusetts | Hey guys,Im the seller of the Ovation adamas u681 on ebay.No ,this is not a scam! Unfortunately, some of us do not own a digital camera to download images of the guitars we try to sell.I guess my feedback on ebay is not good enough? At least someone will get a wonderful guitar at a really good price. And I am working on getting pictures as soon as I can borrow a friends digital camera to satisfy the rest of you.Thanks. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Hi Dave and welcome to the OFC. Good luck with your auction that's a really nice guitar (I own the same model). I don't think anyone was accusing you of running a scam and your feedback is fine. It's just that seeing actual photos of the guitar up for auction adds a little bit of comfort and credibility to some. Anyway, I'm sure it will find a happy home. |

Location: Massachusetts | Hi Tupperware,Dave here(seller of the U681T),thanks for the encouragement. It's frustrating to read comments from people who don't know who I am and insinuate that I'm running a scam.My computer skills are not at the expert level and I'm having difficulty downloading the pictures of my U681T guitar.I'm still trying to get the pictures on the ebay site. What else can I say? This guitar is every bit as fantastic as they say and it WILL make someone out there VERY HAPPY!The serial# is 21153.It was purchased from Oaklahoma vintage guitars.I've only owned it for a short time and I think I went in over my head financially.I have a 5 year old autistic son who needs a lot of medical care and I just can't justify keeping this guitar right now when I have other financial needs. |

Sorry if you were offended by our questions and implications, but we've seen scams where someone's ebay account was highjacked, and the scammers re-listed an item that somone just bought, using the same pictures no less... |

I can't believe that someone on the OFC won't step up and offer you a good deal and take it off your hands. You just need to give it a few days because not everyone logs in daily...some just once or twice a week.
My next door neighbors son is autistic so I can understand your needs. |

Location: Indiana | DaveC...thanks for stopping by and clearing this up. I posted your listing when I saw it because I know how these guys love their Ovations and yours is a rare one. I think you can tell we meant no harm. I've been on various boards off and on for nearly a decade but the folks here at OFC are the best people that I have ever met (I think music makes for a special common bond). We wish you and your family well...and good luck on your auction. Even if you can't keep this particular guitar, I hope that you can still keep one and keep playing.

Location: Houston, Texas | Sorry for any doubts. I think if you get those pictures up you will be pleased at the end of the auction. This model has a huge following and I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up in an OFCer's hands. I'd be considering this myself if I hadn't just made a nice addition to (what is now becoming) my collection.
Good luck with the auction, and of course, with your son. |

And, the Adamas slothead introduced at NAMM, although a great guitar, is a CVT crossweave at about a $1,000 more than the U681T sold for.
Can't get a 47RI, get Dave's - even if it doesn't have the warranty, anything less than $1,700 is a great deal. |

I was not insinuating your auction was a scam. I was mearly pointing out that your auction had some similiar characteristics to one I had bid on and afterward confirmed to be a scam... and that anyone interested should take appropriate measures to insure it is, in fact, legit.
Good Luck with the sale. It's a great guitar and a favorite among those of us fortunate enough to own one. |
