Location: Chicago | I propose an alternative to "Rate you own playing"; How about honest and specific words of praise for our comrades here? I can start:
Randy: The "slack key" video was NICELY played (liked the blues too). I was impressed by the tone and flow. The first of many.
Roman: Beautiful video presentation. Powerful and articulate lead playing. "Stairway of Life" my favorite composition.
Jeff Burns: A one-man orchestra and support system: rhythm guitar, syth lead... The Burns compositions keep us! He is 75% of the trio! Favorites: Bozo's Waltz (Low Tide Waltz), The Egyptian, Burnign Question.
Pascal's video "Les Scenaristes" (Dadi) is gorgoeus. Amazing tone and execution. |

| I don't know why but I forgot waskel's "Rest" cd, which is supposed to be reflective and meditative but sounds best when you crank the volume.
And some guy called cliff who sings. |

Sergio Lara: gotta mention the Country Artist. I caught a clip of him playing in a duo setting, some sweet string jazz. An OFC member with unique chops and musical interests. |

Bobbo playing Petty. Gil (Ignimbyte) channeling Jim Croce. MusicMishka's song about his daughter. Waskel on his Adamas.. And that's just lobby jams.. no way to catalog all of it! |

For specific praise, I've gotta give a shout-out to Beal. He just keeps getting better and better, and really coaxes some great sounds out of his acoustic guitars, from swampy blues tunes, to bluegrass rhythms and licks, to tasty lead guitar solos in support of Davis Turner.
The lead solo guitar piece you played leading into your wind song was something really excellent, Beal. |

Beal and Miles for giving solid based history lessons.
Jerome for having the "World Encyclopedia" of a website on O's and A's.
Everyone with spare parts (Ovation).
Moody pi getting most of the flack I deserve but they can't remember my name.
But most of all - I appreciate Alpep!
No matter how bad my day seems to be all I have to do is call him up and ask him about his... and I start feeling that my life ain't so bad after all. |

Cliff is brass and sharp witted....always has a "biting" comment or comeback to post! (that's what we luv about him!) but he is also a tireless promoter of Ovations and the OFC...I've watched (stalked? ) Cliff at the past couple of factory tours I've been to and I've seen him go around to everyone and speak to them, even if it was nothing more than to just say "hi"..... means a lot to 1st timers and oldies too!
All without being asked to!
He also helps out with the classes and especially the Jams!
(sounds like a real good candidate for OFC member of the year!!!?.... ;) )
But not to slight anyone else here, I like to praise every member on this board ....From the member with the most posts (which just happens to be Cliff! ) to the member with only 1 post (and the lurkers too!) because we all make this place "special" and unlike any other forum on the net...... |

Pack an O with all man made materials (except the Country Artist, that should be straw). Pack up the Takamine Natural Series in compost. Taylor in horseshit, and so on.... |

Seriously, thanks to Beal Sr. and Jr. for the vision and drive to make some of the finest guitars on the planet...bar none! Without them: there would not be any of us celebrating all of this _______________! (you fill in the blank.)
Thanks Gentlemen! |

. . . publically slamming politicos (one side or the other) specifically by name??
Somewhat blatant & requires no Imagination whatsoever . . .
It'd be SO easy to just "throw out" the name of a certain politico (now "hiding out") who years ago threw his cross-dressing, homosexual father under a bus for his own weasly political gains . . . but Why??
Not a path ANY of us wanna go down . . . |

I think specific Props & Praise should go out to Darren Wallace and Willy at the Factory . . .
Things like the ContourBowl, the koa "blowhole" guitars, and the meticulous care and attention to detail that went into the (f&*%^$g)Re-Issue Adamases might not've happened without them. |

Not too many post here but many do read it, or hear about it.
Without them we'd all have to play Taylors and discuss the proper knots to use in Doiley knitting.
