Location: Central Massachusetts | Okay, time to shed a guitar and line the wallet a bit for future opportunities...
I'm very happy with my Redwood these days, and my 6868LX has basically been put out to pasture. It's a great guitar and it needs to be played. I'm not the type to build up a big collection.
If you need a great sounding gigging guitar, this is the one for you with its super-shallow bowl. I think it sounds fine unplugged but it's probably a bit thinner sounding compared to the mid- and deeper bowls.
Pics in the OFC gallery, and further details and more pics at my website
This is an LX, so OP-Pro preamp, Original Patented Pickup, scalloped X bracing, inlaid epaulets, 5-piece LX neck, lightweight bowl, etc. etc. 1/4" out, sorry no XLR out. see the Ovation website for details.
This guitar is technically an FRG (factory reconditioned) .. possibly due to a couple of basically imperceptable finish flaws on the top. You have to be a few inches away and hold it in a certain light to see the blems. They were also a little overly agressive trimming the binding near the top strap button.. you can make it out in a couple of the pics, but it's very minor. There is some light pick scratching. Otherwise it is in great shape. I purchased it new in January and it's had very little playing time. It comes with an Ovation hard shell case.. the fabric ribbon in the case does not hold the case top vertical like it should, so unless you prop it against something, it will open all the way 180 degrees.
Please feel free to chime in with your opinion (good or bad) if you played this guitar at the OFC NW gathering.
I will ship the guitar in the guitar carton that was used to ship it to me. I will ship via UPS or USPS in the continental United States. I'll throw in the floor stand pictured at my web site as well as the String Swing wall bracket if you want it.
I'm asking $600 shipped in the US for OFC members. I will consider reasonable offers.. otherwise I'll throw it on eBay in a few days. I like satisfied customers, so if for whatever reason you don't like the guitar, I'll gladly refund your money if you return the guitar at your expense. If you're unhappy because you think I've misrepresented something, I'll pick up the tab.
Thanks!

I just had to chime in...Yea! I am the 'lucky guy' that purchased this guitar and I am pretty excited...Thanks to both David and Greg for their support and fairness.
I am expecting to have my hands on it soon -- coming next Thursday!
And I am looking forward to being part of this great community!

I am glad you got such a nice guitar to start your membership here with--I actually thought about it (I have always wanted one that color), but there's this new roof in the future of my house.........
You will find this site to be very helpful, informative, funny, insightful, thought-provoking; and also a few other things that you will discover for yourself.
Be distrustful of the "string tubes" product hyped here--I have not found them to be at all useful.
Blessings,

Location: San Angelo, Texas | Hey Karen....we don't get all up in YOUR business, why do you want to shut Dave down before he can even pitch the string tube concept to Jeffery????
Besides...we don't talk about that until he asks about strings...and I have found that they DO make the strings last a LONG time....
It was good to talk to you and Robbie...you will love Jeffery, he really is one of the good ones! |

As for putting a damper on Tuppy's business prospects, once the European market opens up, he won't miss this one sale at all.

Location: CT | Get 6 x-tra long string tubes (the entire length of the neck), and you will never have to change strings. :D ..oh, but it might dampen the sound of your beautiful new guitar. |
