im sure its been discussed plenty, and many times, and people have come and gone, showing their ovation double neck, or selling...
I just learned about this place, and its where i figure to be the best place to start..
I am in need of a Original Ovatiton Richie Sambora Double Neck Black Acoustic Electric Guitar....
i know over 21 were made, and even some after that which were customs....
if anyone know where i might be able to find a seller, or find a connection, because i am willing to spend top doller....
thanks all, have a good one
Brian

I'm the only owner of a custom RS doubleneck on the OFC board (that I know of anyways). Mine is either the #22 or #23 to roll out of the mothership (two were in production during the same period).
I know of only one other RS doubleneck (#21), that was owned by Steve Frangadakis One Light Burning , but he sold his to someone in Europe a while back.
I'm afraid the cost would be extremely out of reach (cheaper to have one custom ordered) or I would consider an original Adamas Slothead in trade ;)
There are more pictures of mine located on the OFC Photo Gallery under Aloha_Tim in the D768-X album.
Good luck with your endeavour!

Custom orders need to be placed through a dealer. Our own Alpep is a dealer with vast experience in dealing with Ovation and specifically with custom orders. Give him a jingle.

One of our own here at OFC recently custom ordered a doubleneck. Here's part of his comments...
C.Choate ...I spoke with Mark Lamanna earlier today concerning maybe building myself a double neck. They start at $7500. This does not include any abalone or custom upgrades. It is bascially an standard elite. A quick figure of the upgrades or otherwords,to have it cosmetically built to Richie Sambora (he had around 6 to 8 double necks and 2 triple necks built from 1988 through 1995) specs is right at $10,000! Mark also said that there is always a double neck being built at the "mothership" mainly because of the lenght of time to build one. He said that Richie has had one built recently and it is a sunburst finish and without any fancy cosmetics... Call it inflation or infatuation, but mine won't leave my hands for under 12 big ones. My advice, place an order for exactly what you want and then enjoy the wait. It will make you appreciate it that much more when it arrives...
Also, know that this is a HUGE guitar. I'm 6'3" and it's a handfull to hold & play. At 8.5 lbs, you wouldn't want to play an entire set with it.

I was told that he wanted a burst-style reminiscent of an old Fender . . . |
