I bought this in 1983 and have cherished it ever since! Rose-Morris in London advised me as to a valuation for insurance purposes at that time, informing me that its value would appreciate by around 10% each year, and I have it covered to their top limit, though that is nowhere near what it's worth according to that means.

I'm intrigued to find out, though, just how much this baby might fetch on the 'open market'. It's in top condition considering its age because I've looked after it well, and it still plays better than any other guitar I've ever played.

This will attract the 'collector' more than the 'regular player', though I've used it as my main instrument for both live gigs and studio recording - why would I use any other when I've never played or owned one better?!?

Can anyone advise me, then, just how much I might be expected to get for this beauty, should I go against all advice of close family and friends and let it go?

Thanks.

Probably not as much as you were lead to believe.

I can't tell you what it might fetch on the other side of the pond, but I've been watching for one here in the US for a couple of years. The pricing really varies ... I've seen minty ones go for as much as US$800, but a lot are in the $400-600 range if they are decent. Occasionally one will pop for a bit more. One with a crack just went for $225 here on eBay.

PM me if you're looking to sell.

Price definately depends on condition. I paid $180 for mine with come cosmetic issues. Mint condition ones have been sold for well over $500. In the UK maybe could fetch more. Dave

Plucked mine out of its nest last night. My, my, what a great tone & feel. The first Collectors model- wonderful.
If you choose to sell, start at $750, if it's really that well-preserved. "Run it up the flagpole, and see who salutes."
