Location: Minden, Nebraska | Looks basically like a Custom Elite. I hardly think it was made in 1997, based on the serial number and the OP24 which was no longer in production at that time. The blue lined cases were long gone, too. Custom Elites are relatively rare, and are beautiful guitars. |

Location: SoCal | JP, Here is another interesting "guitar chain" Custom Elite:
This was probably Sam Ash\'s entry at the time to compete with the Guitar Center special.
It appears that Sam Ash went with less bling, solid spruce top, and a deeper bowl. Whereas Guitar Center chose the "Sambora motif", super-shallow bowl, and a maple capped ply top. Pricing was probably comparable.

| It is a 1994, my mistake in researching, or just a typo when I first got it and imprinted the wrong # on the brain..
I've always thought it was a 97... maybe not, been a lot of things coming out of the darkness since I quit drinking 6 months ago.
but since Organ Center changed the name to Guitar Center in 64, it does make more sense to me now...
It is a beautiful guitar, so are the others which will be going up for sale.
they would have been offered here first, but I have to be capitalistic and make a profit on these.
If I didn't need the money, they would have been offered for sale or trade to you members here for what I have in them.
and since I am still a smoker
(trying to quit... really!!)
and the fact that these guitars belong to:
"Our friend in Florida. God Bless Him" aka me.
I really didn't think anyone here would be interested.
Bruce, I am sorry, you did not deserve the treatment that you received from me. and I do apologize.

Bruce, I am sorry, you did not deserve the treatment that you received from me. and I do apologize. Glenn, I feel that you took advantage of my "OFC Kindness". Kindness to each other on the OFC is first and foremost. That is why some of us helped you and sent you guitars without money up front.
Your apology is empty words if not accompanied by payment for the guitar you promised to pay for, ruined, and threw back on my doorstep. You took a beautiful 1985 12-string Collector's Edition guitar, did not pay for it, and sent it back to me 10 months later completely unplayable and stinking of tobacco smoke. The damn thing is sitting out in my garage because I cannot get the stink out of the guitar or the case. Even the COA stinks. The $250 check that you sent along to reimburse me for my original shipping and the damage you did to the guitar does not cover it.
When you purchase something and promise to pay for it, there are no returns if you have used it for 10 months and it is no longer in the same condition that it was in when you received it.
Look at your auction's return conditions: "Guitar is sold as-is with no warranty implied, but will accept return if shipped back fully insured for purchase price, within 72 hours, in same condition as when it left my home with all accessories, documentation, and parts intact and undamaged. no discounts, no adjustments, period... Refund will be issued within 72 hours of receipt back of the guitar and acceptable inspection/evaluation..."
You have one heck of a double standard Glenn!
This one you cannot cover up because the posts you made saying how minty and wonderful my guitar was when you received it are archived and you could not delete them.
My suggestion is to send me the remainder of the money you owe me and put this guitar back in your smoking room or sell it on eBay.
The last time you were selling guitars on eBay, you posted that you were going to use the proceeds to pay off your OFC debts, keep the 2995 Collector's, and send it to the Mothership for repair. Once you got your eBay proceeds, the guitar shows up on my doorstep.
Why don't you send me the remainder of the money you owe me and I'll send the guitar up to Woody and he can have another winter project.
Nothing is easy Glenn, please pay off your debt. I live on a fixed income and as hard as it is sometimes, I am always there and dig deep into my pocket to help others. |

| I am currently corresponding with a prospective buyer in Italy, says he's gonna do the BIN, we'll see...
He's a big Sambora/Bon Jovi fan, and likes the flash/bling and stars.
just sent him some more photos and information.

| I have dealt with Noah in the past and he is an extreamly honorable and pleasant person to deal with. I did not know we had members who were less than straight up??? This is news to me. If what I am reading is correct......and I mean if what Noah has written is acurate. You need to do the right thing here, finacially. Is that not part of the program your in. Or are you still kinda drinking? I'll bet you have a lot of people you owe more than an appology to and burning bridges all round. Noah I can't believe your control! You are a better man than me. I'd a been on a plane to Florida. If it is not to much to ask I'd like the user name of the guy who is selling the guitars and who has treated another member in such a manor. I do not want to make a mistake and bid on an auction from this guy until this matter is cleared up.

Location: Houston, Texas | All of this had been brought out before about a month or two ago. Amazinglydetached is the user who owes Noah. His real name is Glenn Hess and he used to use that name and something similar to it as a username. He is also the sellar of the guitar in the above ebay link. After this problem was brought out back then, Glenn deleted all of his previous posts, said he was leaving and only recently showed up again as amazinglydetached.
He seemed like a nice guy and several times gave small parts away to other users, including me. Had I known about this problem at the time, I wouldn't have accepted them.
I think Glenn needs to make his debt to Noah good and apologize. God Bless him. |

| Sorry Guy's.....I know I am pretty blunt at times. I just hate people who can't do the right thing, but still seem to have the nerve to add insult to injury and continue to speak to people like nothing is wrong. ??? I figure anyone can screw up. I know I've seen me do it. So I am not the best person to preach........ But there is a big difference with making a mistake and continuing it........if you want to live in your own skin, in peace with yourself, you eventually come round to doing the right thing even when it is hard to do. This guy seems to still be living like a lizard, and with no humility what so ever! And I happen to like Noah.

| From two emails I have it looks like we have more than just our friend Noah on this guy's hit list. You guy's are way to nice to this looser..... He is a one man OVATION FAN CLUB wrecking ball.............I'd have to say a lot of things I can't say in here.... but mister I will say; You have to make this right or get out. You got some set a crook balls on ya to continually rip off members of this site. Do you find the kindness and honesty of this group a temptation you just can't resist! What's your name??? Glen is it??? I did not know creeps like you found your way in here and were thriving. Sad Sad news to me.
Randy
How'd I do? Was that to mean spirited????
I have three guy's I have learned about that have sent money and not recieved their goods from this guy and that is information that was just mentioned by a few guy's who want some carvings done just tonight alone?? We have a problem here... This is a cancer and needs to be removed.... |

I talked to the music store that is selling the Sam Ash Elite. The gentleman I spoke to said they are an Ovation Dealer and they have gone over that guitar thoroughly. They reinstalled the original Ovation pickup after the original owner replaced it with something else.
I think the serial# dates it to '91. Does anyone know about these? It looks like a bear claw top.

I couldn't even tell you how I came across it the other day, but I remembered those black epaulets. I went back and posted it for JP as another example of a "guitar chain" guitar, but I just kept going back and looking at it.
Hopefully, I'll have a couple top shots with less glare waiting in email when I return tomorrow afternoon. Who might have more information about these guitars? |
