Location: NJ | Outside of the (now extinct) Academy's, EliteT's are probably the best "bang-for-the-buck" Ovations.
I'm not big on "flames".
If they offered 'em in the solid candyapple red (t'go w/my old car), or a midnight blue/bright silver (t'go w/my current car), I woulda' grabbed one . . .
They ARE great guitars for the money . . . |

Location: Utah | FYI, this is an outstanding guitar at a steal of a price!
The GCXT is a mid bowl, not shallow as described in the auction. There were two versions offered at Guitar Center AFAIK. They are both the 1778 Elite T, but in either a Red Flame or an Orange Flame. Both have the plain unpainted mid bowl. The Red is, I believe, a pre-2006 build and has the Op30, whereas the Orange is a 2006 build and does have the OpPro.
My daughter has one of the Red Flames and it is a great sounding and great playing guitar.
The Orange Flame typically sold at our local Guitar Center for about $1000 including case, whereas the Red Flame version went for about $900.
At $500 BIN, this looks like a real bargain! I put a bid in at $250 which is below the reserve, so you'll have to go higher than that. |

Location: Lebanon, TN | This thing has been on a steady slide down from $699 BIN a month ago. No body has bid as I was seriously considering it until I got a great deal from Al on a 1787t-5 for my Roland conversion project.
I am amazed too that it has been untouched. If it fails to go this time dont be surprised to see the guy carve anoither $30 off it. At below $500 even I would be tempted to grab it for adoption! |

Man, My Mom (who lives 1500 miles away) would freak! I told here that I bought the GC057, she sez "You bought ANOTHER guitar!?" She's 68, and I'm five-days-shy of 50, but she is always my Mom.
But damn, that do look like a nice one.
I really gotta quit looking at this stuff. |

Gee folks... Didn't that have a $500 BIN on Sunday? Can they do that? (apparently, Yes!)
-addendum- I just looked back on E-baaa, and I guess he can. He "lowered the reserve" which allows him to change the whole thing, I guess. So, once it looked like it was gonna get over $500, he ditched the BIN. Smart! Sleazy, but smart. |

Location: Santa Clarita, California | The BIN went away when I bid $406. Actually my bid showed $404 so I would guess the next highest bidder was at $399 and the reserve must have been at $400. Now someone with 0 feedback just bid $411+ so we will have to see where it goes from here.

Location: East Wenatchee, WA | I believe that you can set up an auction to delete the BIN once the reserve is met then the auction will run it's full course.
Kind of a way to score early and penalize you if you decide just to wait and see where something goes.
I found this out when I was bottom feeding on a couple of guitars for a friend. One had a BIN that I would have been happy with, so I just lurked until it looked like it would hit the BIN, then it was gone?!?!? The second one that came up I just hit the BIN right away. I researched it and it is a legit method of setup.
Not saying that this is what happened, but that is one ebay option for sellers. |
