I have listed one of the latest projects. Nice piece, actually. The case repair was an interesting education, in itself- and, another mosaic rosette creation!

Jason, it's VERY obvious why you're the Prez of the "BLG"! I surmise you have a descendant of Josh White. Suh-weet. They just are exquisite, and fun to play. Just wish my pickin' did them justice, is all.
Bolted the Matrix 1132 bowl to the 14-fret, maple/rosewood, wide-neck. Fiddled with the neck-set a bit, but it's great. Floating fretboard extension, to boot.

Location: ranson,wva | lmi has alot of nice tops,im looking thru the catalog they sent me right now...i like the looks of a natural finish cedar but ive never played one..western red ceader top is $72.75,or engleman spruce is $78.80,not a bad price either. its a set neck so i might toy with the idea of multi soundholes and a carved adamas bridge if i can get my hands on one..jason |

Location: ranson,wva | the foredom works great,i think ive got some bridge blanks at the worksohp at the farm. btw the guitar was a 1114 with a split top and a bunch of broken braces,ive made up the new braces from spruce,i ordered the tonewoods today from lmi and ive got enough kerfing to do 3 guitars. im thinking about braccing it like the adamas tops and maybe "outties"....the bowl is no where as nice as my folklore but its still solid. im thinking about knocking down the texture and buff the bowl till it shines....jason |

Where I live there just aren't any under 400 bean balladeers with that special mojo that only they can give when you hammer on them. I've got a couple Korean-made o's that play nice, and sound great plugged in, but I want a camp-fire/leave in the holiday trailer kinda unit,like this. Thanks again for all your trouble.

I wouldn't fret (oops, sorry) leaving it unattended in your trailer, but use some common sense- if you wouldn't like the continued exposure; your critter probably wouldn't, either!
Rapid changes are hard on my old bones, and I don't ask that of my gitters.
Hardcases help, but even Thermos bottles eventually reach ambient temperature, too. |

Technically, an 1117 is a Legend, but it has that big-balls response deep-bowls are famous for. I think an old 1712 I had- "Dillinger" cuz of the bulletholes- registered the biggest 6-string sound of any "O" I've owned, so far.
Ol' Faithful, the 60's-neck,80's-body 1111, is a real close second, though.
That 1132 Matrix Reso I fabricated was real amazing, too. Too bad my slide technique sucks so badly. |

About 20 some years ago I used to jam with a friend who had an ovation I assumed was a balladeer, and i never forgot the distinct sound, and amazing volume that it produced. |
