I am looking for a natural red mahagony Ovation Deacon. If you or anybody you know is selling one, please let me know. Must be in good to perfect condition. I have a rare red mahogony Breadwinner Limited that I would be willing to trade as well. Either way, I want a Deacon! Thanks!!!

First: welcome to the club.
Second: can't help you, sorry about that.
Last: Interesting comment -- i'm curious why you would trade your LTD. What's got you so jazzed about the Deacon (besides it's an Ovation and a darn fine guitar)

the deacon was my first guitar, and i loved playing it until it was stolen a few years ago. i tried to replace it with the limited, but it's never been quite the same.

Ah -- sentimental reasons. I understand that.

Anyway, Miles posted this thread a while back. You might take a look through his inventory and find what your looking for. Then PM him and see if he's still selling.

Also i see these come up on ebay regularily.

Good luck.

Looks like Miles has updated his collection and removed the "sold" items. Only one Deacon listed and it looks to be in less than perfect shape.

Good luck hunting, and welcome to da club.

Hey thinphantom - from one junior member to another, I say welcome. Click on MEMBER ACCESS on the left, click the "Photo Gallery" button, use the scroll-down list to highlight "stephent28", click the "Get Albums" button, highlight "For Sale Items" in the scroll-down list, and click the "Get Albums" button.

If you don't have the Green Bar on the left then click "Ovation Fan Club" on the bottom of the page.

Once you find the green bar, bookmark www.ovationfanclub.com. That way you'll get the green bar on the left. You're probably jumping right to the bulletin board or maybe even the for sale topics.

And if you still have problems (esp. with the period that got inadvertantly enclosed with Mark's link) copy the following into the address bar of your browser:

That's the one I'm talking about. One pic shows a case. Mine has a brown case that looks just like the Viper case from outside.

Phantom, I've always thought that a sunburst Deacon with a maple neck would be killer. You could replace the neck with one that Miles has for sale (he also has mahog.)

It's only been three years. He's probably been scanning the For Sale section every day waiting for this one to come along! He's lucky, because now prices are way down.

I didn't know it was possible to dredge up old threads from the vaults and reanimate them.

Now you know it can and does occasionally happen.

Very frustrating to read the first 3 or 4 posts, realize it is not makin sense so you look at the date and see it is 3-4 years old.
