I'm on it - don't know what the O neck is about, but still nice.

My guess it was a neck repair/replacement from someone other than the mothership - grafted an O neck onto the A body.

if you look at the case, that was a pretty hard blow to have cracked it like that - if the guitar was inside at the time it probably broke the neck.

WOW, I used to own the "complimentary" guitar to this one. An Ovation Elite body with an Adamas neck. It was actually a VERY cool guitar.

Very cool. Did you order it that way, or did you come across it already in that configuration?

The previous owner had it built that way.

Okay, kinda like a friend o' mine who bought three junkyard Mustangs, and ended-up with two really nice Mach-1's.

Here's the link. It looks pretty cool. If the price hovers, its a steal.

I had a couple of 1597s a few years ago with Ovation headstock logos. I called Kim Keller, who told me that the factory made a few without Adamas logos because they ran out of the Adamas headstock facings. This one sure looks like an Adamas neck and fretboard.

I had a 1598 FRG a few years ago that had the Ovation logo. I assumed that the neck was repaired (making it an FRG), but what Kim told Paul makes sense, and having the Ovation headstock facing, they probably didn't want to sell it as a 1st stock. I wonder if this one has an FRG label?

I sold mine to a guy in Florida, so it's probably another.

I like Dave's Adamas/Elite top 12 better. But we could pester this ebay seller for more history and a serial number...

In the photo it looks like it has the graphite top, or is it just my poor eye sight?

Yes it's a graphite Adamas SMT top/body. For all intents and purposes it's an Adamas. See Paul Blanchard's earlier post on this thread for a probable explanation for the Ovation headstock facing.
