Location: Parrish, FL | Welllll.....Anyone interested in a nearly pristine 1681-8 Adamas? This one is butter smooth with low action. Issues: One very minor scuff on the back of the neck, hard to see and un-noticable when playing and electronics need cleaned and checked out to eliminate a intermitent buzz.
Like Dave, I've sworn I'd never part with this guitar, but Dave's insanity has sparked some serious GAS for his 'burst 1537. That and the UTE is getting much of my play time.

Location: South of most, North of few | Brad, don't do it. You will be sorry! I was going to sell mine, then I played it plugged in to a board, and it changed my mind. (although that 1537 IS a nice item) Sell your car, and have both! |

Location: Parrish, FL | Probably true, but I don't play plugged in. So the acoustic tone of the 1537 is a sirens song.
I can't help myself. I've kicked myself since selling my 1537 in the spring to pay for the UTE. Should have sold the Adamas instead. |

You have both a 1681 and a UTE. How would you compare the two against each other? Me, the UTE wins hands down. Always inerested in anothers opinion.

Well, ok, you asked. When I received the UTE, it had three braces loose, presumably from shipping, so I sent it back to Ovation for a complete makeover, so $150.00 later, which should be covered by insurance, I will have a new one. (Braces reglued and a complete setup) I am due to get it back in about a week. Long story short, I haven't had a chance to play it. I was set to sell the 1681, and had a buyer that wanted it, but after I played it through our church's system, I couldn't bring myself to part with it, it sounded sooooo good. So, as it is, if the UTE sounds and plays better than the 1681, I will be very happy, but I don't think I will part with the 1681 regardless as it has the 14 fret neck which has its appeal. (It's going back for a refurb next) Those two, the 1614, and the 1115 are probably going to have a permanent home with me. I think I will have all the bases pretty well covered with those. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I dropped a lot of hints for gh1's blue Adamas, but it's probably best I didn't get it. Got a good deal on a Honda Civic for one daughter and then we passed my other daughter's car broken down on the highway. Ended up giving her a new alternator and brakes as a late Christmas present. So daughters' cars cost about 10 Adamases. |

The 1681 is still here BTW ;)

Location: Boise, Idaho | Just got a call from my daughter. She made it home and the car ran great. One day later than she wanted and we spent the weekend home, working on the car this morning instead of at the cabin, but it was a good bonding experience. Our nephew came over to help out and the 3 of us worked on the car or ran for parts. Good family time, although I would much rather have spent it going skiing with the family. Made me feel needed to have to rescue her, but it was scary at first to see her car pulled over and her no where around. My other daughter saw the owner's manual open in the car, so we figured she had car trouble. A nice guy picked her up and took her to the next stop. She was in a canyon where there was no cell service. |
