Location: big island | I had received a direct email over a month ago from this seller asking me if I was interested. Jenny sent me these photos and others. I believe she got my email address from this site. When I inquired about a price she said they usually sell for between $1600 and $2500. She is probably looking for an offer. It's an awesome guitar and I certainly wish I had the ability to acquire it. |

Location: Lebanon, TN | Yep me too....intersting that she has been on here lurking as I contacted her off of philadelphia craigslist back in September and mentioned the OFC. Jenny said at that time she was going to Ebay it around Xmas and would let me know when it was for sale. Obviously changed her mind.
Again I am very interested at the right price and it must be around me here somewhere across in NJ. CL or I could both check it out. I hope Jenny will however come off the fence on what she is looking for as again she quoted seeing them go on Ebay for $1600-$2350. I disputed that and quoted that in fact it has been hugely variable for A1' 6 or 12s depending on what the bidding condition are like at the time. |

Location: SoCal | When pricing an Adamas I 12-string, remember that there aren't too many out there. Not a production model anymore. And, how much for a special order if new...I know that Chris Choate had to at least $2,500 a couple of years ago (that and a long wait).
Compared to what other companies would make, even a new one is a steal. Heck, even the limited (100) run Adamas I 6-str (1687) was about $2,100.
IMNHO (In my NOT humble opinion), any serious 12-string player should have an Adamas I or II (textured top). |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Yes, Chris's custom was something like $2500. or more. He sold it to me at a small loss, but still an expensive instrument as far as Ovations go. But you know what? It's the best damn sounding and playing 12-string you'll ever find at any price. In that regard, it was a bargin. On this black craigs list one I'm not impressed with OP24, but if you can get this guitar for under $2200. it would be a great buy in my opinion.

| She is most likely staying away from Ebay because the prices are not reaching reserves and those that do are way under priced.
She is better off waiting until the prices return to at least a normal level. Nice guitar it is worth all of $2,200

| I emailed her, and her response was that
As seen, on ebay Adamas I in similar condition sell between $1600 and $3600 (which I find to be outrageous!):
1993 Adamas ($1630):
http://cgi.ebay.com/Ovation-Adamas-12-string-A-E-1688-8-w-HC_W0QQit...
1978 Adamas ($3600):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=006&sspagename=STR...
1988 Adamas 1587-X ($2700)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ADAMAS-BLUE-BOY-1988-ONE-OF-A-KIND-MINT-AS-NEW_...
I believe she is looking to get around $2K for it.
Someone should grab it! |

Also, a gallon of gas in France is around $10 US. (That isn't just because their gas costs so much, but that the US Dollar is worthless elsewhere in the world.)
But, to me, Adami are like West Coast Choppers. If you have to ask the price, you probably can't afford it.
And you get what you pay for...
(I saw a 6-string Adamas at Apple Music for $1499... It was gone next time I stopped in!) |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Not really sure... I just noticed it up there, and the dude climbed up (way away from greasy fingers) and flipped the tag out so we could see it. Got my strings and left. It was gone the next day. It was during their Christmas sale...
More than I had lying around in my pocket, and I had my leather jacket, with all the snaps and zippers, so I didn't handle it. |
