- XLR added by Kim and friends at the factory
- all gold hardware
- sound ports in bass shoulder
$600 plus UPS
I love this guitar but, having acquired my '84 Adamas II, my wife says something has to go.
(She's still deciding if that means ME).

I installed K&K Pure Western pickups. They have a VERY natural, woody sound. I wanted to tweak the plugged-in sound as much as possible, and the combination of the XLR and the K&K's makes for an unbelievably rich, clear voice.
The K&K's plug into the OpPro with an 1/8" jack. The original Ovation p/u is still intacked: simply unplug one, plug in the other.
This guitar goes for $950 these days. The K&K cost me $100. The gold tuners and hardware were another $60. I forget what the XLR was. $150 maybe?
The 9158 case was from another guitar I sold. I sold it with the 8158 case that came with this guitar. The case you get with this guitar these days is crap compared to the 9158.
OK I'm done. John <>{ |
