Be aware that this is probably the 8158-0 case, not the 9158-0 case that higher Adamas and the higher end Ovations are supposed to come with. He is still using the picture of what looks like a new brown 9158-0. He told me that he has all of his O's and A's come with the black 8158-0 from the factory. |

It may be the company I'm keeping lately, but I'm beginning to like the lines and even the color is growing on me. I would love the chance to play one but, on the other hand , it may be better financially if I didn't.
When I look at the December pic in the '07 calendar, I have to remind myself it's that great lookin' dog that draws me to it. (grin)

Location: Tidal Mudflats of Virginia | I believe the 9158 case has PF embossed on the latches, a smoother "rough case exterior" and a center nylon lid strap instead of a strap on each end like the 8158.
It looks like you have the 9158 case, tiss the same one I got with mine and I know Al didn't dump cases on me :) |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I spent a weekend reading the old posts on the OFC guitar. A couple of the threads were over 15 pages long. Basically a #47 in blue with a 2 knob preamp and unknown extra goodies.

It is consistantly the ONE guitar all my neighbors can recognize by sound alone when I'm playing on the patio and it always draws an audience. I've sent my order Al's way for an OFC mate and fully expect to plug it in often, but the #47 RI will always be my special as that "unplugged" thumper guitar.

I would love to get my hands on one of these deep-bowl boomers. I think Stephen Terry has one and he's fairly close by. Maybe he would be kind enough to let me touch it--I would even wear white gloves. ;)
Unless I win the lottery, or the wife is willing to let me spend our tax return in a frivolous fashion, I'll probably not own one of these any time soon.
Then again, we are going to Vegas in a month. C'mon baby (blows on dice), daddy needs a new Adamas!! Craps out... |

I saw in the Adamas section of Dave's Ovation Gallery that only 12 OFC serial #s will be available--of course this is a guess based on what I saw. Can you confirm this based on what you've heard or read?

Some of us are relative newcomers and some of those that said they wanted the OFC guitar bought #47s. They are more fortunate than me if they can get both. It seems clear that the OFC will be much more limited than the 47. |

Thanks for the additional info Mark. Not having seen the OFC as a finished product yet, it would be a toss-up for me as to which one to buy, aesthetically speaking. Red or blue? I'd have to see both of them first-hand to make that call. Then again, the ability to plug in the OFCer may seal the deal. And it will be one of twelve--pretty cool, too.

I bought one on the spot and bought a second similar model within a month later. Todd, take your wallet. Like Mark, I'm doing all I can to resist the 47RI in hopes of bagging one of the OFC models.
