Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | I have one black and one brown Ovation deep bowl case that both need some fixin...I am trying to restore one of them, and may have to cannibalize one to fix the other. If both are in relatively the same condition, is one worth more than the other?...or is it strictly personal preference.
Kind of a weird question/post...but hey this IS Norseman, so consider the source.

Brown case has the felt like lining in pretty good shape...the black case has the plusher black lining, but fairly rough. |

Hope this helps . .. |

My thoughts are, I would restore the case that is correct for the year of guitar it will protect.
The brown one's seem to go for a fair price these days, maybe because of the lack of quality in the 8158's that are standard for a lot of O's presently.

Location: Phoenix AZ | The brown comes can be brittle. I would not get too hung up on period specific (I just shipped a 1537 to its new owner in a 2006 case). I would look them both over and decide what would be the best possible combination.
Personally I would love to see the brown lid on the black case. Kind of like a "black & tan" at my favorite saloon.
