For those of you to whom it makes a difference, since you can't see the bidders anymore. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Great price for such a nice guitar. I think I got the first '05 on this board when they came out and paid (?) $1700. or something like that. In my opinion was still worth it at that price. These are REALLY nice. Congratulations. Dave |

if you bid against an ofc member those are the breaks.
If you really feel the need to tell everyone which guitar you are bidding on please privately e mail those individuals |

Sorry. I won't do it again. I had just noticed the threads that lamented that folks couldn't see who was bidding on eBay items anymore and had read elsewhere about people watching to see that they didn't unnecessarily bid each other up and so I posted. With all I had read I had no idea there was a restriction.
Like I say, sorry - won't happen again. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Of couse we could come up with some kind of code language. Like this:
"Wow check out this groovy auction. This is only the third one I've ever seen like this".
"groovy auction" is the alert code that you are a bidder. "third" signifies that you are bidder no.3
Al's probably cancelling my next guitar order right now ...

Just a guess. |

Hey, isn't Al traveling to Columbus today? Let's post a bunch of swear words and dirty jokes and just see what happens.

With the New E-baaa system, you can still find the info on the jerk that outbid ya'!
Since $800 is a "good deal", I won't be buying one of them anytime soon. |

So I am guessing that that is a Contour Bowl? Yes. It's the first contour bowl model. That's one of the reasons I wanted it. It also completes my collection of the [currently available] Contour Collectors. Then, of course, there are the more prosaic desires for great sound, looks and playability. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I may have to get me one of dem. I started-out with a coupla SSB's. Then an Artist Bowl. Which gave me something to compare the SSB's to... Next (probably tax-return-time) I gotta get either a deep- or contour bowl.
Now I plug-in my 057 (needs Bass). The 4861 still sounds okay ala carte. |

Location: Bay Area, CA | Nice win on a very nice guitar, and at a great price. I was watching this one, and wondering at the time whether Ovation made a Collector's Country Artist version, ie, nylon strings, but not the wide classical neck (Josh White size)? If so, do you know the year, perhaps have a photo. My CA is ca. 1978, and still one of my favorites. |
