if it was made in korea, it is difficult to come up with the right number BUT AFAIK balladeers were only made in korea a year or a half a year and that would have been about 5 or 6 years ago.

According to the Price List link, my 4861 is either eight or eighteen years old. The serial number of mine is nine-million-and-change.
The Price List says that 4861's were made from 1986 to 1989, and again in 1998.
So your guess is as good as mine.

I don't think the OP24+ was available before 1990. This one is from the nineties.

Well... that is my preamp So Im gonna say my balladeer is a 1990 model . One other piece of info I have noticed is that on top of the balladeer sticker inside are the words Ovation@USA embosed into the "plastic". Yet as I said on the sticker it says made in Korea. Do you belive that it is a 1990 model?

The bowls are made in the US.
The guitars are made in Koh-Ree-Ahh . . .
