My 2001 Collector’s Redwood #293 is on the block.
Here are a few pictures:
My first choice for this deal is this: Trade the Redwood STRAIGHT ACROSS for a good mid-level Archtop Jazz guitar (Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor or Emperor Regent for example) and a good mid-level Classical Guitar, both with hardshell cases.
I would love to work up a deal with no monies exchanging hands (except respective shipping costs).
My Second choice is this: Trade the Redwood STRAIGHT ACROSS for a good mid-level Archtop Jazz guitar (Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor or Emperor Regent for example) and extra $$$ to make up the difference.
My Third choice is this: Sell the Redwood OUTRIGHT for $900.00 (including OHSC) leaving me with enough to purchase an Archtop and Classical separately.
So, whatcha think? Is it doable?
Thanks, |

Maybe toss in one of those "Jiffy Pop" hats and someone's bound to take you up on it! I think you'll find something. |

Location: Colorado | Wow Tim. You're breaking my heart that I don't have the extra funds to take this thing off your hands. Hopefully someone on the board here will accomodate you and keep it in the family.
Best of luck with the sale/trade. |

O.K., I was off by 5 degrees...but the wind will be howlin from what I hear...burrrrrr.
Shipping a guitar in this kind of weather is not a good idea...believe me, I learned the hard way...twice!

I can wait for the right "good home" that it deserves..... |

Of course 84.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot and you can only count on me 50% of the time. |

Until someone offers me the deal/monies I feel is sufficient, I'm going to keep the Redwood, put Flatwound Jazz strings on her, plug her in and pretend.....
..this isn't a firm closure, just awaitin...
.......St. Al, Sr. Miles you can delete this feeble attempt at marketing until.... |

I wasn't trying to derail your efforts! Seriously! You don't know how many times a came back to look at your 2001 since the first day you posted it. I just couldn't quite stretch it because I was trying to get multiple instruments on a fixed budget. In fact,I spent a whole day scheming on Ebay to try and find deals on the guitars you wanted to trade for!
For what it's worth though, the biggest chunk of my budget came from selling my 1999 Collector's on Craig's List. I asked for $1000 and sold it for $950 to a lady in England. Her brother works in the Hudson Valley and he came and paid cash for it two days after I listed it!!!
The point is, I think your price was more than fair for such a well-maintained guitar. If I could have stretched a little further funding-wise, your post wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes after I saw it! ;)
On the other hand, you could be thinking exactly what I was thinking when I listed my ex-1999: "What's the worst that could happen? I get stuck with a fantastic guitar? Dang!" :D |

I'm not in any hurry, but it does need to be played.... maybe with flatwounds and my Ricky studio amp, I can pretend about the jazz box until the deal happens.... the Redwood IS available and I'd STILL like to do the "deal"..... |

Location: Yucaipa, California | Ok, here's the thing: last night I put a set of .11 Stainless Steel Flatwound Jazz strings (from webstrings.com) on the Redwood, I took out one bridge shim, plugged it in and wowiezowie! I gotta VERY COOL JAZZ GUITAR!....so, sorry for all the fuss and please consider this "Forsale/Trade Advertisement" as nothing more than a tempest in a teacup....no archtop needed!...I guess I shoulda listened... |
