Hi,
I'm looking to pick up a nice Ovation classical in the near future. Not familiar with the different models yet. Would prefer slimmer neck, something from the 1970's or 80's if possible.
I currently have 2 guitars for sale or trade: 1981 Chiquita travel guitar, rare two pickup model, bright yellow, exc. cond., orig. suede padded case:$350......and a 1983 Alvarez-Yairi CY-117 classical, rosewood, solid cedar top, ebony fingerboard, exc. cond., well seasoned, sounds and plays great:$400 can email photos or give you my cell# if interested. thx JP

If you go back far enough, you'll find one where I said the same thing about my CA when I first got it, but now I play it as much or more than any of my others. A new set of nylon strings may make more of a difference than a new set of steel strings. The Artist depth bowl an possibly the bracing leaves the sound a little thin, but they are really pretty good guitars. I've played a Yairi and I wasn't all that impressed with it, but some think they are great. Pay Jason a visit.

finaly got around to streaching the strings and plugging it in..thats where it shines.

mark. i just did a setup on it today and got the action nice, took a few shims out of the bridge and gave the rod a twist. new salverez high tensions. plugged into my marshal 100 soloist and it realy comes to life. the high tension strings make a huge difference. if you wanna try it out ill ship it to you and you can see for your self. the price will be what i paid+setup and strings and ill pay the shipping....jason
