I left the Northern Plains 10 years ago for warmer weather (first in Florida, now here) and I just go back in the spring before the mosquitos hatch to visit. I miss the nice people up there, but don't miss those winters. By the way, it's going to be 70 degrees here and sunny today. |

There's some great deals and land to be had in the middle US.
Believe me, the last thing you want is every day over 100. Vegas, Arizona, NM, TX ..no thanks.
PS. In no way am I endorsing Reno. |

But you don't have to worry about your guitars drying-out (too much).
But houses are over-priced... |

I happen to absolutely love where I am, but that's just personal preference. Hot summer is no where near as difficult to deal with as a freezing artic winter. Just my opinion.

Location: Boise, Idaho | Yak, last one in closes the gate, right? I'm not saying anything nice about Boise. I haven't played golf since November. Houses are way overpriced. Got below freezing several times this winter and gets over 100 in the summer. The football team plays on blue turf. |

Dave Two words ... Southern California.
I personally think NorCal is the best spot on the planet. |

| Don't you worry, the way we are going it is going to get real warm for several years and then when the oceans reach the breaking point with melted fresh water it will get so cold Arizona will freeze too. I figure why worry about moving, even if you beat the crowds of millions headed for the equator what difference will it make. Mans inhumanity to man will be so over the top no one will survive anyway. So enjoy, huddle up and play music till the wood runs out!
Have a nice day.

I'll get it over it...probably will never move, I love the res of the year here...just needed to vent.

p.s. interesting, a weather(wo)man from St. Paul, stood outside holding a kettle of boiling water. She threw the wather into the air and it immediately crystalized into snow...not before it hit the ground, but before it even reached it's highest point into the air! That's cold..and that was only 18 below... we were actually colder than the North Pole in Brainerd today from what I heard. What kinda of fool lives in climates like this  :( ?! |

Location: Carle Place, NY | I feel for you Norsey. I went to Banff, Canada a few years ago and it got down to -30. I made the mistake of going out without a hat for a two block walk to the restaurant. It was painful. That is some serious cold. This morning it was +9 in metro NYC and the news calls that bitter cold. I know better. |

Dave Dave, I beg to disagree. I can dress for the cold here; you can only undress so far for the heat.
OK, OK, I can only undress so far for the heat! :)
That was not a dare, Dave! Put your clothes back on before somebody gets em-bare-assed! :D

| By the way you got me beat, but not by much. I had -15f this morning. Little Diesel VW squeaks and squeals when it first starts up and it takes a while for those glow plugs to heat.

Isn't Steve Hall the guy that does Shotgun Red from Brainard? What a cool entertainer and showman. |
