After multiple failed attempts chasing ebay auctions, local stores, even online stores, I'm seeing if anyone here can help me.
I'm on the hunt for a 1537 or an U681T-5. If anyone has been thinking about getting rid of either, PM me.
Thanks.

Sorry, Dave, just kidding around. The one that I have coming won't be available for a long, LONG time. Keep looking though - they're outstanding guitars. Good luck. |

Seriously, I hope you enjoy your 1537 for many years.
Also congratulations on being the recipient of the OFC act of kindness.
A great group of people here. |

Location: Bluffton, SC | Thank you, Dave. I don't even have it yet and the sentimental value of it has already put it out of reach for pretty much everyone.
And, yes, this is a very special neighborhood. |

Fred Rogers was never a Marine Sniper or awarded any extreme medals of honer (Urban Legend).
He was a sincere and loving individual that treated everyone with respect and kindness. He followed the Slipkid manifesto before it was writ!
Can you say that? Writ. Sure, I knew you could. |

These are really special guitars, I've considered putting mine on the block but now that you'll have a pristine 1537, i'm considering sending mine to the mothership for an update, it's an 8.5-9 right now, no cracks just a few dings. I hope I can make it to the tour just to see yours!!!
There's definitely something special going on here with this group, that's why we get so riled up when it's threatened. The last 8 mos here has been wonderfully therapeutic for me, thanks guys and thanks for showing how much you care! Just one example of what makes the OFC, the OFC!!!

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | It looks like I will be selling mine soon. After lots of internal struggle in trying to decide which of the Elites to keep, I decided to keep the cedar top cutaway. If anyone is interested, shoot me an email in the next couple of days. I'll send pics. Naural Spruce Top. |

Location: Hicksville, NY | Try Adirondack Guitar. When I inquired about a U681T three weeks ago, it was still available. I had since deleted the e-mail sent to me, but I believe the quote I got was a little over $1,700 brand new with hard case. Check it out, and speak with Dennis -- at least, that's the person's name that I made contact with at that time.
Good luck.

I'm thinking of having gh1 hold onto the black 1537 until the cold snap here in Canada breaks.
Hopefully that'll be the time he receives the money order. |

Anything is possible, but why erase perfection? there are still plenty of natural one's floating around. I only know of a few black 1537's... |

I asked John Budny about taking the Sunburst on my 1659 back to Natural and he said that the planing to remove color would leave the top too structurally unstable.
He reccomended leaving it -1 or taking it to another solid color. I chose black and replace the carved walnut bridge with an ebony one. That makes it match my 1619 of the same age that I got from tlc.
So to answer your question, ask the factory, but I suspect the answer will be a "no way" |

Like I said, just curious. Random thought turned loose. |
