Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Why are these things so tough to find online? Has anyone played one? Are they ever available used? If so, where? And what are they really selling for? (Used, I'm pretty sure I can't afford new.) At the moment, I'm only interested in the LX version, but if this search eventually turns fruitless, who knows what I'll wind up with. |

send me an e mail with your budget and I will see what I can do. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I believe the 6773LX is considered a "special order". Like the 6774, mando, bass, etc. I think this means that they are not in the "pipe line" and probably no dealer orders on unless he has a firm order. So, yes the chance of finding one in GC or in stock someplace online is not high. Several members here have them, including my friend Tom from France.
I have actually played one. Very nice, although personally I prefer the 12 fret 1773LX, with slightly wider neck 1-7/8 vs. 1-3/4. I'd say "shop around", but that may be pointless. I have no idea what the price is. Maybe around 1800. to 2000. ???

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | I've found a couple online for around $1400-$1500. that's why I was trying to find one used. I tend to prefer more narrow necks even though my fingers are long enough to handle 1 7/8. It just makes for a smoother transition between my steel-strings and the nylon.
Oh well! I've other guitars, I can play them and be patient. :p I waited for my 1997 Collector's until last year. And I waited until last week for my 2001 collector's. Might be time to hunker down and wait for a target of opportunity. Unless I see a great deal on another Collector's I like! :D |
