Location: RI. That small State out East | I just traded emails with the seller. Nice guy. Sounds like a sweet guitar and so far a killer price.
Good luck.

Location: NW NJ | Patch - this is a little worrisome to me, so if you are going for this instrument you might wanna ask the right questions of the seller. I have no reason to doubt he is straight ahead on this but this
2005 Collectors
is a closed auction for the same guitar from a month ago and already has feedback posted. He might have had 2 of these axes, he might have had the sale go south and had to relist, he might ...
Well, I just think it begs the right questions. Having just come off a bad ebay deal with a seller, I am a little sensitized  |

Location: Round Rock, TX | I would definitely ask him if someone dressed the edges or if it had the frets replaced. If it's only had the edges dressed then you'll need to figure on a complete fret replacement (call it $250) added onto the price.
I was the buyer on the auction that worshipleader is referring to. This is the same guitar. He evidently got it from the original owner and flipped it. When I got it I found that someone had done, for whatever reason, a really bad fret job on the poor thing. My speculation is that the original owner wanted jumbo frets on the it. Anyway, the wire used was the wrong size so that the frets would not sit flush with the fretboard. You could actually fit the corner of a piece of note paper between the fret and the fretboard. This made the frets too high and there was a LOT of string buzz. Also, as he notes from one of my emails to him, the edges of the frets were so sharp and protruded past the edge so much that they could literally cut your fingers.
At that point I wasn't in the mood to mess with it and decided to wait for another one to come along (of course, there has not been another one on eBay since then). I contacted the seller about it. He explained that he had gotten a lot of guitars in that week and had not examined this one closely enough. He was very cooperative, refunded my money immediately and I shipped it back to him. He seemed throughout to be a stand-up guy. I have no complints on that score (hence the positive feedback).
BTW, the rest of the guitar seemed pristine, but I didn't check it out too carefully because the fret problem was evident immediately and was a deal killer before I even plugged it in. |

Location: Upper Left USA | I've never had a massage sent to me on Ebay. It does sound better than just plain old feedback.
I have gotten a wide range of responses when I ask Sellers about some of the "odd" situations like borrowed pictures, repeated auctions, wrong identification, etc.
Always better to ask. Then pay with Paypal or Visa for the protection. |

Just curious since mine was relieved of my possession by a pretty good scam. |

I heard back from the seller. His story corroborates wilblee's. If the price stays low enough, I'll buy it and re-fret it. If not, someone with more money can re-fret it. ;) Thanks again for all the help guys. :D ( For MWoody and CLiff that reads "Thnaks again for all the help guys." :) ) |
