And truthfully there's really no guitars that compare or are built in the same quality of these guitars so it's really an anomaly I believe. Strange indeed! |

Though I would like both! Hmmmm... I guess I have an hour to think about it! |

It's beena while since I had two D12's in my music room. Or two Roddy's in there for that matter!
Here's a shot of Kurt and son.

I just need my "tech" friend to get them back together, switch out the brass for the plastics for me, get the good to go and their going up on eBay. At least a couple weeks before this happens but I wanted to put it out there. All the best! MJK |

Same electronics, neck inlays that AREN'T on every Legend ever built, and that AXE body shape just doesn't do it for me. |

Location: Stratford, Connecticut | Well I guess with a Preacher 12 you're not going to be afraid to gig a lot. It's not as rare and desirable a guitar as a Deacon 12, in my humble opinion. I figured Moody as a legacy here and had every rare and desirable model stashed away anyways? |

| No worries from me this time, although I know this is a great guitar and a shame to pass it up, it really is mint looking. I am in the process of building a super sound proof practice room. I also have my heart set on Rickenbacker to fill my electric 12 string needs. I thought I had an Alembic Bass lined up but it is gone and I think I will just find a nice American Made Fender Jazz bass 5 string to fill the last of my band needs. The Duo is still under construction but because of the complexity of some of the music we are attempting my partner and I both have solo gig's to keep busy and the Duo is now going to be a Trio. We found a great drummer who can sing pretty good. Ever try and program a whole sets worth of music on a ten year old Drum machine! Here's a tip........ just split the Gig with a good drummer it will sound better and it is way more fun. Trio will probably go to a fab four before long as well, We have ten songs now that we can do but we really need the Keys! Good luck on the Deacon, keep this one in the family it is real nice.

As for O electric 12 strings, great guitars but I always wondered why they bothered making them in the 70's. It wasn't really the sound of the day, more a 60's thing.
....I guess they worked on the

Location: Stratford, Connecticut | As rare as Deacon Limited 12s are... I checked one out not too long ago and the shape albeit cool was too small for me being used to the Deacon 12 I have. It's just not as comfortable a guitar which is why I couldn't rationalize buying this local one. And Ricks.. I used to have a 66 330 or 360 12 that was "the bomb" back in the day... late 80s I believe... but from memory I feel the Deacon 12s are "better built" guitars although not as asthetically pleasing "to most" I guess. And I get such a great array of "sounds" out of my Deacon 12... very unlimited in that department, in my opinion as a "versatility" guy. I truly believe that a better 12 string has yet to be built... at least for me. I like the idea of these new Taylor T5s as a 12 string... that would probably be "the new era" of electric 12s for me.. but with the tonewood tops of course.. the maple just don't sound or play as well as the koa style ones... from what I've noticed. But at 3k compared to $1850 I guess they better! All the best brethren! MJK |

| An honest question; The nut width on the Rickenbackers is a problem for me as well, I have not tried all the models. I had a natural finish 330 on my hands and I love the patented Ric sound I guess It is the semi hollow sound I am going after anyway. God those guitars are such classics...... Does the other Ric models have any with wider nut sizes?? also what is the nut width on a Deacon 12 in comparison?? Anyone know.

| the nut width on a deacon12, preacher12, or bluebird12, is 1 7/8" and they are very nice necks and comfortable to play(at least for me)
if you're comfortable with ovation a/e 12 necks and profiles you'll like the solid bodies. the neck on the bb12 and the 2985 feel almost the same.

Randy Yes, the Rickenbacker model 660/12 has a much wider neck. It was originally the Tom Petty signature model and it's continued as a production model.
It also has a great vintage look http://www.rickenbacker.com/model.asp?model=660/12 |

| Ahh.......I like these as well. Not the semi hollow I wanted but I always wanted a Rickenbacker 12. I will try a 660, when I find one locally. Thanks
