It's done.
Whew. After 10 months of early mornings bleary eyed in front of my monitor, it's finally finished.

...a beautiful dvd sleeve.

Cliff, is that so as in "so you finally got it done", or so as in "so what?".

This turned out to be a 2 disk set. Just too much to fit on 1.

Price is $10 shipped in US, paypal, check or money order.
PM or email me for address.

Proceeds beyond costs will go to OFC support.

Just a disclaimer -
Though the sleeve came out great, these disks DO NOT have labels, so please don't think yours were forgotten.
I don't have a disk printer and I refuse to put sticky labels on DVD's anymore - it can cause fatal damage to a DVD player, they get much hotter and spin faster than CD players and the adhesive melts, the label slides... new DVD player time.

waskel,
a few weeks ago i got one of those lightscribe dual layer dvd burners off of eBay ($40.00), you know, the kind that also burns the label. finally picked up some appropriate discs the other day but have not burned any yet.

by the way, that is awesome work you did on the sleeve. excellent design!

I've seen those, Randy, but I just bought this burner a couple months ago. Litescribe media costs more, too. Who looks at the label of a DVD anyway?

I picked up an inkjet printer for cd/dvd's It requires special CD's that you can write/print on, but they are only a few pennies more than normal ones. The sad thing is, that the printer is still in the unopened box.... for a year now. :(

Is that the Epson R260, Miles? I've seen those, but read good and bad about them. I've had Epson inkjets before, and had no desire to get another. Their consumable cost was unacceptable.

Ditto what waskel says. I tried to go with epson. Ink usage was easily 2x compared to canon or HP. Never again. Dave

Not to belabor the point (because I really think the ability to print on disks is cool) but the last Epson I had really ticked me off. If any of the cartridges ran dry (according to the printer) it wouldn't let me print at all. If the color ran out, I couldn't even print a text page with black. That to me is unacceptable.
On top of that, there are studies that show Epson printers report the cartridges empty with up to 17% of the ink remaining.

I have a couple of HPs here and you can go on printing for a long time after the printer reports the cartridges as empty.

Ref: the 17% thing..
I was notified that I was part of a class action suit against Epson.
I filled out the form and once the lawyers are all done I'll get a $100 certificate for purchase of ink cartridges.

I heard about that, Brad. It was too late, it was already taking up space in a landfill.

Me too, CL. HP may be the microsoft of printers, but mine will keep printing when all the ink is gone.

I would like to get a copy of both DVD's, but will not be able to send the money until I get back down south. I do not want to do anything that needs a secure connection while using an unsecured wireless connection and a borrowed laptop. It will be another 12 days before I leave Green Bay, WI and head back home.

More likely she'd be hitting the screen with her "OVERWEIGHT" stamp.

No, I was afraid she might want to see how Mark looked in a grass skirt.

Got the dvd's today. Outstanding job John!

Have to admit, I cringed when I heard myself singing. I may never open my mouth in song again...

I don't know. (a) She may think it is boring. She may think it is stupid. (b) She may wonder why I would want to hang out with such a strange bunch. (c) There is even a very small possibility that she might think it looks like a lot of fun and encourage me to go every year. My bet would be on (b), but she might think you guys are no stranger than I am. I would have a tough time with the grass skirts, but she forced me to go to a toga party a few months ago. It didn't occur to me that I could wear shorts under it.

Pam watched a good portion of the disc with me. A while later she said that she wishes she had an event like this to go to every year. Because of work, Pam can't make it this year but she suggested she might tag along next year.

Just checking. I haven't had any complaints, but we aim to please...

Is there anyone who ordered earlier than 2 weeks ago who has not received their DVDs?

Is there anyone whose DVDs won't play for some reason?

Did anyone receive 2 of disk 1 or disk 2?

Has anyone's child or spouse inadvertently watched these and now requires therapy of some kind?

Has anyone decided not to (or is now not allowed to) come to the 2007 Tour as a direct result of seeing Bradley in a coconut bra?
╠══ Remember! Your satisfaction is our top priority!!! ══╣

*1 - Try a little patience. This is the USPS we're talking about.
*2 - Consider buying a DVD player that was built in this century.
*3 - Congratulations! You probably are not suffering from Alzheimer's.
*4 - I'm truly sorry, but you were warned.
*5 - Can't say I really blame you. Come anyway, you'll regret it more if you don't.

It's not the DVD, Mike. I actually used some video tricks to reduce it (your butt).

I didn't want to have to remaster the whole thing in WIDESCREEN.

Ok, everyone who ordered (except Al) should have their DVD by now. If you haven't received it yet, let me know.

My thanks to everyone who supported this, and I sincerely hope you enjoyed it.

There will be copies of both 2005 and 2006 available at this year's Tour.

I hope to see many of you there!

I haven't had a chance to watch both disks yet, but the bits and pieces look great. Most importantly, it looks like you all had fun and I'm sure you will again this year. Don't piss off Al so much that he won't put one together for next year. I finally might be able to make one. That will give me some incentive to learn to play something.

I was a bit disappointed with just one part of that . . .

Right after Witko sang the line:
". . Well, I got this guitar and I only gotta' make it talk . .", I shouted down from the balcony: ". . It's a UKELELE, stupid!! . ."

It wasn't picked up on the audio . . .

I'm curious to know if any of our European friends that received copies of the DVD have any video issues with the DVD being in NTSC instead of PAL.

Mine worked fine. As far as I understand it, European DVD players can cope with either format, USA machines will play PAL but with a loss of quality.

Discs received today. Stamped "viewed and approved by the Canadian National Film Board, Ottawa, Quebec." Which may explain the delay.

I am totally impressed with the packaging. Will make popcorn and watch it the evening. Thank you to all involved (won't do 'especiallys'...for fear of accidentally missing someone) in anticipation.

"I'm curious to know if any of our European friends that received copies of the DVD have any video issues with the DVD being in NTSC instead of PAL."

I will let you know as soon as I got the DVDs! Should be no problem.... and the NTSC-80%-picture-quality together with the sponge-sound will always remind my, that this is a wonderful souvenir from USA, hihi!

It's becoming a tradition, Al... Every year you beg me not to, and every year I ignore your pleading...

Got my DVD's...haven't watched 2005 as yet...Great Job: I am looking forward to this year and getting to put names with faces...some I will know but the rest will have to wait till Hartford. BTW, I assume that was a custom made Ovation: with the electric pickups installed and what I think is a Thunderbolt neck and Preacher deluxe fingerboard? wild...very different. My snakeskin topped T-Bolt should be waiting at the factory finished by the trip and if so I'll pick it up there. My 1758 is on the way and should arrive Thursday. Al, I thought you had class...I enjoyed watching and hearing songs I have not heard in years! Makes me searching for some dool tunes to offer myself now.
Blessings!
---A note: Please keep the VA TECH campus and community in your prayers! I have been there since day before yesterday and am to go back on Friday for two more days: this has just devestated our area of SW VA. I am a chaplain and will be working with the emergency responders and police this weekend. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

Mike, in your age group (where most of us are) I just assumed you meant to say drool tunes...

Thank you so much! That was a world record!

Already yesterday I got my DVDS 05 and 06.
I started with my picking lesson at midnight! I was always a plectionary, but with Pauls help I will go into Leo Kottkes picking world.....just a few decades practice and voilà! No problem! (?)

It is really a great pleasure for me, to see so many of you in these DVDs.....I do not know all the names, but now I have some faces! By the way....NTSC is no problem, the quality is pretty good. Thanks again to all of you, who made these DVDs possible!

Bless you all from switzerland, Dieter
