And to top it all off, people who know what they are doing are going to listen to it.

Which one sounds best to you?
I gotta admit... the D-28 sound pretty good. |

I like to have seen the comparison between the D-28 and an Adamas I or a #47 RI...

Location: Chicago | Well I just played an emergency gig last month on a vintage Martin D 28. I will testify UNDER OATH that you can't do justice to DiMeola's "Fantasia Suite for Two Guitars" or Gismonti's "Frevo Rasgado" on a Martin.
Strumming a few chords in first position is as much a test as watching a parked car. |

I personally think his shoulder shaking was more enthusiastic with the Martin which probably lead to his perception the Martin was sounding better.
If he would keep his damned ears still, he'd realize he's full of shite. |

Of course you can always use a hammer for everything except an electrical problem............. |

and for THAT, you'd have to "throw" it . . . That's why they make the hammers with rubber handles. |

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | My Morgan Monroe has that deep booming bass, very much like a Martin. It's great when I'm playing bluegrass with my friends. It's loud enough to compete with the banjo and mandolin and fiddle.
But when I want to play some jazz, NOTHING can beat my Ovation. It sounds pretty good for classical too. |

... but then again I'm listening through these crummy computer speakers. You can't really tell unless you're there in the same room with 'em.
I thought the Adamas had better note definition though. The Martin was kinda muddy/murky IMO. |

| I guess if you like muddy & indistinct mids, then yeah. He probably can't hear the mids & highs from having damaged his hearing by playing his iPod too loudly. And +1 on First Alternate's observation. |

... and it sounds like it. For a new one maybe: better pony up the big bucks for a vintage one: my '48 is 15 large; mid 50's are 10 to 13.
and
Yes Dave; it does! |

I have two and they sound different, but Not-at-All better that any of my O's.
As I posted on YouTube, dollar for dollar Ovation, even Adamas, Wins!
I was just thinking that that Martin cost more than three or four (maybe more) of my most expensive guitars put together.
PLUS! I still like my bowls better... I get wood-boxes, play with em for awhile then sell em.
(Anyone wanna by a factory 2nd MIT Takamine G330? $200 with case) |

Location: ms | If i told you it was a piece of crap would you want to buy it? Just kidding, I just resold the 710L9 that Tupp seemed to like and it was the best sounding Taylor I`d ever owned. The 415CE plays much better than the 710 but its a different sound, good but different. I also like the body size of the 415 ,its a good fit for me. So why am I getting rid of it, ask Trader Jim he has the same sickness. |
