570-878-9906 cell I'm sure you aren't the first. He called me out of the blue one day. After a long conversation (long conversations with Noah may be the norm) I thought that it seemed like an interview of a prospective adoptive parent. Sure enough, a few months later I adopted his 1537. Just be patient. I can vouch for the quality of Noah's adoptees. |

John, It was great talking to you yesterday. Sending you the pictures will be the next thing I do.
John was with us here on the Forum back in 2005 as "johnqball". We lost touch until he returned as himself this month. I noticed that familiar name on a post looking for "a nice Ovation Acoustic/Electric for" solo gigs.
Jason, Fred was bringing home a box and I've got the packing peanuts. He and I just have to get together. |

thank you for the pics of the Ovation and a great price. I am trying to move some electrics I have to be able to purchase from you. Also, a friend I've traded with on the West Coast saw my ad and is sending me his near mint 1985 Collector's 12-string???? to try out on my solo acoustic gigs. I couldn't pass up this opportunity.
Thank you everyone.
Sincerely,
John |

Location: Archbald, PA | I am proud to say, I have recently acquired 5 Ovation Collector's series guitars. I have started using them on my Solo acoustic gigs and I am loving the playability and sound. I now own:
1. 1985 Collector's 12-string spruce
2. 1990 Collector's Birdseye
3. 1992 Collector's tamo ash
4. 1994 Collector's Cedar
5. 2003 Collector's spruce
All are unique and different from eachother. If anyone else has a Collector's series they are looking to sell or trade please let me know. These guitars will be played and loved.
Thanks,
John |

Nice collection though. Are you planning on getting one of each year? ;) That would be cool. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Be sure to get an 87 and a 2004 (30th Anniversary Custom Legend). I've had several women suggest that if you use them in paying gigs, then it is OK to have several guitars. I suppose it seems like a business expense. I've never seen it that way, but I'm not good at this "feminine logic" stuff. When I suggest that they ought to apply the same logic to having more than one dress, they look at me in disgust. |

This might be your lucky day...
John Quinn only told me he was looking for a SSB w/bling. He didn't tell me he was looking for different Collectors.
I have a couple mint '92 Collectors stored away.
I picked them for the figuring of their tops.
Write me if you seriously want another '92. |

I may have my tops mixed up, all new and wonderful to me. Noah, I wasn't at first looking for any Collector's I walked into my local music store and the '92 had just come in and I fell in love. I was able to trade a guitar for it. Then the local "paper shop" had a '90 Collector's in it for $400?????? I checked it out and it was in excellent condition, I gave the fellow $500 which is an absolute steal. Then my buddy Stephan out in WA. saw my add and sent me his '85 Collector's 12-string, near mint. It is the best 12-string I've played in my life. I sent him another one of my guitars he wanted. Then finally a guy I work with we started talking guitars and he told me he had a 2004 Collector's???? You see what is happening here, Now I Can't Stop It, it is totally out of control. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | John, if your friend wants to sell you the "2004 Collector's", grab it. There really wasn't a 2004 Collectors. They did a 30th Anniversary Custom Legend instead. It is one of the nicest Ovation Collectors. If he isn't selling, Tony Calman may have one that you could talk him out of.
If your 90 Collector's has a deep bowl, you got a great deal. There weren't too many deep ones. The shallows were more common. Either way, the 16 fret neck is very collectible. |

Location: Archbald, PA | Mark, you are very right. I had just woke up and was a little fuzzy my co-worker actually has a 1994 not a 2004 and I do have it. Sorry about my cloudiness. And my 1990 is a deep bowl, it is beautiful. It has 24 frets and seems like the bridge is in the middle of the body, very unique.
I've had regular production Ovations before but never Collectors and I am very impressed. I have a solo gig this afternoon from 4-7pm outside and I will be bringing the '95 12-string and the '94.
I also have 2 Gibson's, a Tacoma, Takamine and a Guild, but I am knocked out with the Ovations. I used the thin body '92 Collector last night with the band for 1/2 the first set playing some Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, America, etc.... and it played like an electric. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I could understand how you'd get confused after the feeding frenzy you went through. The 1990 attaches at the 16th fret. The only time I played one, I had trouble keeping my left hand out there until I figured out why the guitar felt so different.
Erniewan was really looking for one with a deep bowl. He'll be jealous. |
